I called Steel Aviation to buy a plane (N310VP) they have listed. I called the listing twice and got no answer. I called and selected option 2 and tried every one of their sales people's extensions but got no answer. Some of these extensions I tried multiple times. I tried the original listing I found on Controller.com a while later and the owner then answered. This is the owner, mind you: Jaime Steel. (Jaime) "What can I help you with?" (Me) I'm just wanting to buy a plane you have for sale. I tried every extension of your sales people but nobody answered" (Owner) Is there an emergency? (Me) My emergency is that I'd like to buy a plane that you have for sale. I'm thinking, did she really just hang up on me? I texted her and asked her the same question: "Did you just hang up on me?" No response.
Several hours later, I got a text from a nice gentleman (one of Jaime's sales reps) by the name of Mark Wages. He told me that Jaime was really stressed and had her hands full with an off airport landing. I'm not quite sure what that means but if there was a life and death struggle of some kind, I get it. In such a situation, Ms. Steel should, 1) Not answer her phone at that time, or, 2) If she did answer her phone, to then politely tell her potential customer (i.e., me) that there was an emergency and ask if she could call back later. Done. That's all that needs to happen. Instead, she just hangs up on me. Not professional nor acceptable. I just hope the owner is not the one giving anger management courses at Steel Aviation. The only thing I can do is vote with my pocketbook, and therefore, I can never do business or call this business ever again. I wish Ms. Steel, however, the very best and hope that her life improves. I'm just grateful I don't have to be a part of it.

Buying an aircraft is a big decision, and one of the most important and personal decisions I have made. This was my first aircraft, and incredibly important to myself and my family. The whole team at Steel spent months understanding my needs, partnering with me to search for the right Aircraft and brokering the whole deal from start to finish. My broker Justin was personally vested in finding me the right airplane and it clearly showed. These guys earned every penny and then some. Any questions or concerns I had, my calls were always taken. Any bumps along the road with such a technical purchase were addressed and taken care of. I was treated exceptionally when I arrived in Ohio to pickup my plane. Everything was prepared, and the thoughtfulness and orientation I received with my aircraft was remarkable. I highly recommend Steel Aviation and I have nothing but high regards for the company and the help I received.

Jaime did a great job selling my Cirrus SR22 G3. She knows the market, so she prices planes right. If you want a fair price and a timely sale, it's hard to over-emphasize how important it is to price a plane correctly. Other brokers may tell you to price your plane higher, but your plane is likely to sit on the market. The Cirrus market has too much activity for buyers to overpay. My sale was closed less than 60 days from listing. Hard to beat that.
Jaime maintains high visibility in general aviation and has a great reputation for honestly representing planes, so she attracts lots of potential buyers. Steel Aviation also supports the Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) by providing a commission discount for members. That discount more than paid for many years of COPA membership.
Jaime made sure the entire transaction, including arranging the pre-buy and correction of discrepancies, went smoothly. If I were selling another Cirrus, I would not hesitate to list with Steel.
