Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar

Update: called the restaurant on April 8. My husband revealed to me that the waitress tipped himself which I thought was weird. I spoke to the manager and asked him if gratuity is included in the bills. He said no and proceeded to verify my receipt or so he says. He continues to say, im sorry the person you spoke to seem to have been mistaken,a 20 % tip is required. i had only been on the phone with the same person. I asked if im talking to the same person from earlier and he says yes. Maybe its the same server with the AirPods. Maybe the manager is bipolar or something. Idk whats up with that place but the whole experience has been really weird. I visited Emmett on April 7. The visit can be summarized down to terrible service and food ! When the server asked us hows everything going , my husband expressed that he was not pleased with his food. The served shrugged his shoulders like oh well thats too bad. I called him back and asked for his manager or to speak to someone else. He continues to explain that they dont do refunds with a very dismissive attitude like its not his fault that my husband ordered a crappy meal and that he should just deal with it. We never asked for a refund, we simply expressed our dissatisfaction when he asked. The whole ordeal was very unprofessional. Also, he had earphones in both ears which was very unprofessional. It may very well be an accommodation to a disability. I The business looks like its not doing so well. The sign read that they were short of staff. That server looked like he was the only one there. The food was bad. Clam chowder was ok. Fries looked old like they were reheated in the microwave. My husband plate remained nearly untouched. The fried shrimp was similar to the frozen ones you buy at the grocery store . Overall a nasty experience. Do not eat here .

Excellent oysters and clam chowder! Fish and chips were okay for our taste. Friendly service.

I asked a couple fishmongers for best locals casual oyster bar. Both didnt hesitate and recommended Emmett Watson. I was in town two days ate here both. Salmon soup was amazing. Could easily have been served in a more upscale restaurant at twice the price.

Google has Saturday hours "open until 6pm." Got there before 5 with my daughter and we were both really looking forward to some oysters. Turns out they're only open until 4:30 based on the schedule posted on their closed door. Would be awesome if online business hours aligned with actual business hours.

Food was probably fantastic. I'm not sure though, because my party of 5 career professionals walked out prior to the server taking our order because the he was extremely rude and unprofessional, for no reason, in a way I've never seen in my 45 years of life (mind you, within only 5 minutes). I could go into detail but not worth my time. Found another place nearby to spend our money and had a fantastic time.
