Adam Carmel, in better put terms, is a disappointment. We have spent MONTHS looking for a therapist for a 13yr old child (has abandonment issues) who needs someone he can count on and trust, while all parents involved agree on the therapist at the same time. Adam came highly recommended so we jumped on the first appointment we could. Upon leaving the appointment, our teenager, like most, was apprehensive about going back to therapy. Adam told him to think about it, let him know, and then pick a day and time if he wanted to come back and start his sessions. We had some deep heart to heart conversations about going back, seeing if this would be the right fit, and how our teenager could truly benefit from having their own person. Finally, we got and ok from the teenager and he decided he wanted to give it a try. After completing the steps asked of him by Adam, he emailed Adam letting him know he was ready and what days and time would work for him. Adam then turns around and says I recommend that he find another clinic to purse treatment WOW!!! What a low blow to a 13yr old child who has been through, and is going through a ton. He does this after he says he can help, and that he just needs the patient to be a willing participant? Not only did Adam have us pay for the $350 intake, he filled a 13yr olds head with ideas of a trusting relationship. He all the sudden will be out of his office extensively in 2020. Sorry, but this is not an individual that I would refer to anyone who truly needs someone that is by their side and they can trust. This unprofessional behavior has really set us back and put a lack of faith back into a teenagers mind. Oct 9th, 2019
