My three children attended the school for a few days. I felt discriminated against as a woman of color. I was given a position in the coop without any conversation or consideration of my skills, and then was told it wasn't a board position when the description said it was. I was also told I would have to spend more time in the classroom because I had the most kids which was not mentioned when I was enrolling my children. The class size didn't lend itself to learning social skills and it showed in the students. When I asked for a prorated reimbursement after paying about $1600 for about 3-4 days of school I received no response. I have tried to contact them multiple times with no response. This is not a progressive or equitable school.

Seattle's Progressive Preschool is a fantastic community of parents who care about social and environmental justice and are committed to creating a vibrant intentional community for their children. We absolutely love the parent education component provided by Seattle Community Colleges, in which we benefit from the deep knowledge of an expert in child development and parenting who teaches us about emotion coaching, positive discipline and other parenting topics.

We've had a great experience at Seattle's Progressive Preschool this past year.  We've found it to be a wonderful community of parents who share similar values.  Our teacher is phenomenal - she makes an effort to really connect with every child and is committed to every child thriving in the preschool environment.  When our child had a challenge, she came over to our house to help us troubleshoot and was so caring and empathetic. We also love the parent education component provided by Seattle Community Colleges, in which we benefit from the deep knowledge of an expert in child development and parenting who teaches us about emotion coaching, positive discipline and other parenting topics.

My kiddo is thriving in this kid friendly environment and loves the balance of structure and free-play. The teachers and parent educators are informed, compassionate, and enjoyable people who nurture the children and caregivers. We enjoy the community and opportunity to connect with other families in this coop experience.

We love SPP! Our son has been so nurtured here, and the community is wonderful. The missions of social justice and environmentalism run through the curriculum and the school's decisions. Parent education sessions are so helpful, we have had discussions about emotion coaching, how to talk about race, and more. As parents we are learning from the school right along with our children. Highly recommended!!
