This is the most disturbing and concerning type of business for small residential communities. It is with the utmost importance that everyone living in apartment complexes be sure to read your tenant contracts and for the owners to also understand the terms and conditions they have within their HOA bylaws etc.
The slogan of Air Garage is "Maximize parking revenue at your property". At what cost? Local communities like Juanita Village in Kirkland WA have just been massively impacted with 50$ parking tickets being issued in scale, patrons completely unaware and blindsided by Air Garage's sneaky inconsistent signage and no forewarning, The most absurd part of this is parking is on the street and there are retailers at the ground level of the apartments. There used to be 2 hours free and now its 3$ per 0-60 minutes. Therefore, even for 1 sec, it's 3$. And the parking inspector is at the ready and ticketing regularly. The location is in front of the Chelsea building.
I recently tried to help explain this to a senior citizen in her 70's. She was parked in what used to be a handicapped parking and still appears that way since the paint is still on the ground. She saw her parking ticket after coming to grab a coffee and was completely shocked.
So this is where companies like air garage have stooped so low to take advantage of long term residents and locals who simply want to grab a coffee. so if a coffee is 4$, now it's at least 7$ (3$ per hour for parking on the street.)
This company has absolutely no moral compass.
I ask all apartment owners and tenants to read their contracts and agreements and determine if this is just and the type of business we want to encourage that is impacting friends, families and local residents.
