The manager of this building physically assaulted me tonight. I have a friend who lives here and he picked me up from the emergency room after being diagnosed with pneumonia, offered to let me stay the night so I wouldn't be alone. Some other friends came to see me here and I walked them downstairs to leave and got lost finding my friends apartment. When I saw the manager (thinking he was a tenant), I asked him if he knew who my friend is, and he must have thought I was lying or something and started to yell at me to leave his F-ing building etc. I let him know I couldn't leave my belongings behind my phone, medication, coat, and purse were in my friends apt. I did not cuss at him or do anything wrong. He kept getting escalated and called the police on me. I didn't have a problem with that because I hoped the police would assist me in resolving my issue. The manager went on to lie to the police that I was drunk or on drugs, and that I was trespassing. As we were waiting for police to arrive I continued to go to the other floors to try and recognize my friends apartment. I was respectful and not being loud until the manager shoved me from behind so hard I fell into the wall in the hallway. At that point I screamed my friends name and he came and found me. I am a 50 year old female, I work with Catholic Community Services as a residential advocate, have no criminal record, and I serve my community. I have only visited this building one other time and I am not one to cause trouble or commotion where I go. This man ought to be ashamed of hitting an ill middle aged woman and I don't know what else to do about this other than let people know what kind of person has been put in the position of authority in this building. BEWARE if you're here alone, are female, or disadvantaged in any way and have an encounter with this man.
