David Aboulafia, MD

As a physician myself, I found Dr. David Aboulafia very knowledgeable, compassionate, caring, devoted and very hard working. He does a comprehensive evaluation and bases his recommendation on what he sees as a result of that. Although he is much younger than myself, his approach to medicine is like what an "older generation" physician (as I am) would be in its comprehensiveness and completeness crowned by his well rooted knowledge in his chosen field. I have been blessed to have this great physician look at my case and plan of treatment.

Dr. Aboulafia has been treating me for multiple myeloma for over 10 years now. He has always been always kind, patient, attentive and responsive to my needs. Several of the Yelp reviews seem to find fault with front desk staffing and appointment issues. Deservatively so! This is a group practice within Virginia Mason. But staffing issues should not reflect negatively on this fine practitioner's clinical skills.

It has been a blessing to have Dr. A as my oncologist while going through Hodgkins Lymphoma. He took my case while I was struggling to get care at a different medical facility and thank God he did. He is kind, humble, calm, confident, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He saved me from having to go through a harsher route of chemo, radiation, and IVF, which my previous oncologist was suggesting. He is constantly working to grow in his knowledge for cancer care and be there for his patients. Not only that, but the people at Virgina Mason have been proactive with scheduling and making sure I got care. Cherry is an absolute sweet heart and every person who has done my chemo. In a time where you dont get to see a lot of people or go out, I actually look forward to my chemo appointments so I can see my Virgina Mason friends! Thank you everyone who has made this difficult time a little sweeter!

I tried consistently for over 2 months to make an appointment with this office. They clearly do not want new patients. It took them a month to process my referral. When my referral was finally processed they called my old primary care physician for my health insurance information instead of calling me. They were subsequently given the wrong information and then never called me about it. I called them after two more weeks had gone by, discovered the issue, and gave them the correct information. I was told I would receive a phone call to schedule the actual appointment. It has been 3 to 4 weeks and I still have not received a phone call. And at this point, of course, I don't want an appointment with this doctor anymore. So I will be starting all over from the beginning...find a new doctor, get another referral, try to schedule, give them insurance information...everything all over again. Don't waste your time.
