We bought a new construction home built by Inca Builders in September of 2020. A few days before Christmas the finished basement flooded. The root cause was the foundation footer drains did not drain to daylight. And, the storm drains the connected to the down spouts were sloped improperly. Very basic mistakes that should have been easily avoided. Inca does not care about the details and they do not oversee their projects sufficiently. It took Inca 11 months to fix the basement and we had to hire a construction defect attorney to get them to respond. Initially we were quite pleased with the builder at our walkthrough. They promised us contacts with electricians, and we went through a list of things to be fixed. Everything seemed great. This was June 2021. Since then, communication has vastly declined. To this day we still have blue tape in some areas that where things we discussed being fixed was not fixed. I was willing to look past this however as most of these things were minor. However, in August of 2022 we discovered mold in our basement. All of the inspections we received pointed to a problem with the foundation. We had the misfortune of discovering this past the 1-year mark in their "warranty". It was somehow not covered by the longer warranty they had purchased, as the insurance company deems this not "structural". I have been attempting to pay these builders out of pocket since they are the ones who built the house to investigate the foundation issue and hopefully resolve it. I have been largely unsuccessful in getting even a person on the phone. My direct contact came out once in October 2021 and has not returned any of my calls since. Calls to the main phone number reach an actual person but this person redirects me to the number I already called. We have started reaching out to other contractors after 5 months of vacating our basement but even they have said we should go back to our builders. So here I am posting this review in frustration, with an issue unresolved, and a largely unreachable builder.
