My divorce was final in July of 2015. My lawyer pushed me in the direction of mediation, however I had heard some bad things about Bartlett Pollock & Besk so I didn't want to use them. My husbands attorney really pushed for this firm. Eventually I was pushed into it and it was a HUGE mistake. I expected Mr. Besk to actually try to mediate the differences between the two sides, but all he did was carry papers from room to room and make occasional comments. The mediation failed and I was told the next step was binding arbitration with a judge. My attorney did not explain any other options to me. I thought I had to go that way. Buried in the failed arbitration was a stipulation that Larry Best would mediate any issues involving the things we agreed to, like selling the house. I had no idea this was going to happen. So imagine my shock when we had a low ball offer on the house that I was against and Larry Best said that I must accept the offer or HE will sign it for me!!!! The other factor here is that my ex hadn't paid his attorney a single dime in almost two years and she wanted her money. The only way she, I called her the Dragon Lady, would glet paid is when the house sold. The Dragon Lady didn't care what the house sold for as long my ex got enough to pay her. Eventually about 3 weeks after their offer was accepted the buyers changed their mind. Then came the Dragon Lady's campaign to make me responsible for the sale failing with Larry Besk. After the first real estate agents contract was up, I wanted to change agents. That agent caused a lot of trouble by repeating private conversations between she and I to the Dragon Lady. Every time that happened Dragon Lady would complain about me to my own lawyer and Larry Besk. Whoever you side with I couldn't work with an agent like that. Then another surprise....Larry Besk at the Dragon Lady's request refused to allow a change in agents. WOW, the Dragon Lady had convinced Larry Besk that any problems with the agent were caused by me. The agent herself refused to step away and her Broker backed this all up. I was being "forced" to work with an agent I did not trust by Larry Besk. Larry Besk was my worst nightmare. I would not even give him one star but this site wouldn't let me post the review without selecting at least one.
