I don't live here but I recently stayed for 2 weeks to take care of my friends plants while he is out of town. First of all it is in a great location in Ballard. The building itself is not clean. Plus even though my friend is very clean I woke up to find cockroaches in the kitchen. He contacted the building manager and management company several times. No response at all. I think this is something that should be dealt with urgently especially since it probably means others in the building have them. It's a health hazard. I don't understand how management firms, and the people that work for them, that act this way can ever think of themselves as kind and caring.

2013: Ideal location and unit lay-out - very friendly, efficient and responsive managers. One month into winter though and the radiators are inconsistent sources of heat. Here's hoping spring finds the Management re-imbursing rent for failing to provide a key element of housing! 2014: Oh golly gee, money back? ha, rent is up 18.7% ($1390 to $1650) snap: 1yr in, the new manager is no longer on site (but actively seeking tenants to take on managerial duties), the laundry room and 10% of the hallways are lit only by daylight, the aroma of the carpeted common areas lingers a little longer as do the trash and compost. Still, love my westerly location over-looking maple trees. 2015: Out in a month but have I mentioned how warm the apartments are today, how even when the radiators were failing, the showers pumped pure heat? New attentive, friendly, and on-site managers are seeing that the residents are happy. Sure there's no rent control in Seattle (how do we vote on this?) sure the friendly-enough deaf smoker lady with a heart condition is having her rent raised 50% (hyperbole! I honestly have no idea) but dammit if someone doesn't have to pay for the shiny stadiums and the unlucky hole under the waterfront.
