Mercer Vista Apartments

Two stars only because Sadia was always nice (although, I never asked NW apts for anything so - perhaps my rating would be different if I had ) The company (Northwest Apartments) cares only about money -- and the proof for that statement is in the class action suit they settled recently. (Google it) Great location - but units are way overpriced for what they are. Require a large security deposit and they will keep every dime of it (I was there 12 months and they essentially kept all $1300 of my deposit. Some minor things were valid charges but the majority was an INSANE amount of money for alleged damage )

These people treat you with zero respect. And when you move out they will keep your entire security deposit even if the apartment is cleaner and in better shape than it was when you moved in. DO NOT RENT FROM NORTHWEST APARTMENTS

Worst apartment complex ever. This complex has a huge problem with theft. So many of my packages got stolen and I emailed the property manager multiple times and she gave a less than helpful response advising me to send my packages elsewhere. I talked to multiple other residents who also had the same problem. They have zero security cameras either and refuse to put them up. They have mold everywhere in the garage and in stairwells. There is also zero hot water. The units are extremely overpriced and you can get the same unit in downtown capitol hill in a way nicer complex, so look around!

I'd avoid Mercer Vista apartments. I was renting a parking spot from them during COVID and was able to see the communications they sent out to residents. They were insensitive and cold to residents, reminding them that, while they couldnt legally be charged late fees, rents must be paid by XX dates etc etc. They sent out rent reminders 2 weeks early at one point, just "reminding" people rent was due in two weeks and to make sure you could pay. I compare that handling to the building I lived in, which sent out notes encouraging residents to come forward if they couldnt pay or make rent to work out special assistence and that they'd find a solution that worked for them. Mercer Vista doesn't treat residents like people, they treat them just like income, and I'd avoid any company that views their tennats that way.
