University Heights Apartments

The Universetimes heights building is an older concrete and rebar biking built in the 1970s the pipes are cast iron. Living there was okay for the most part. Benefits included being very close to the Farmers market and within walking distance to the light rail station. Due to its concrete construction it was pretty quiet and we barely heard our neighbors. There is a large balcony on which to relax which is deeper than anything built in the last 15 years. The downsides were, old plumping a very small washer dryer combo, a worn out kitchen including a range, dishwasher, refrigerator, countertops worn thin and all the cabinets which all ought to be replaced. Additionally there's no onsite management. Areas of concern, the single elevator. Which broke down every few months, sometimes it would open between floors, other times someone's dog would pee in it and not clean it up. When it broke down it could take days to be repaired and once after a snow storm it to 3 weeks before it was working again. I stopped taking the elevator since it was not trustworthy. The mail room is in the small foyer and is not a safe place to have any package delivered. Overall it was a fine place for an able bodied person but it was in serious need of renovation.
