Living at the Adamson and renting from Kia was THE best rental experience I could have ever asked for. The building is not run by a rental management company, but by a small family-owned business. As landlady, Kia was attentive, kind, and easy to get along with. She responded swiftly and diligently to tenant concerns, and worked with the building's maintenance personnel (shoutout Francisco!) to resolve problems with our unit or otherwise.
The unit's themselves were clean when we moved in (I lived with my partner and cat in two different units), and updated with modern furnishings. The grounds of the building were kept clean, secure, and maintained. I personally miss the beautiful magnolia and lavender which greeted you as you walked in the gate. Our neighbors were friendly and respectful, and as a small building we soon recognized most everyone who lived there.
I would be remiss not to mention the location. Only blocks away from Volunteer Park, living at the Adamson puts you 15-minutes from the nightlife of Capitol Hill while affording you the peace and quiet of the Northside of the neighborhood. You are a short walk from North Broadway and a bevy of lovely local businesses. The 49 bus line picks up at the end of the block on 10th Ave which will take you south to downtown or further north to the University of Washington. There was parking available for a nominal monthly rate, although the location rarely required me to drive anywhere.
All in all, the Adamson is a charming building run by a team who cares about their tenants and the building itself. Details are so important when maintaining an apartment and Kia and her staff knows this intimately. When I move back to Seattle, I will be crossing my fingers there is a vacancy in one of her buildings.
