The units are okay, but overpriced. The owner refuses to update security on the building. The doors can be forced open easily. I personally lost $2000+ in packages living there. The basement storage facility gets broken into on the regular and now they expect you to pay for the usage and claim zero responsibility for theft or damage. The monthly payments the owner needs to make were just under $5900/month upon purchase. Theres 19-25 units. Youd think the owner could afford to at least update security for the building. One would also think an asset management company would also accurately portray the data on the building. The maintenance staff is more congenial than the last account manager for the building. Be careful about your rent payments as things post in your bank account. No one will call you to say rent didnt go through even though you got a confirmation number for it for a week and then it will be in the form of an eviction notice. A simple call to let me know would have yielded on time payment when this occurred to me. Frankly, I wouldnt live in any building managed by Northwest Apartments. (Or Epic Asset Management) At one point, the owner had one unit set aside for air bnb purposes and allowed guests to bring their dogs, meanwhile renters could not have a dog. Their pet policy is not accurately reflected. Also took 6-8 weeks to have a pipe that had cracked to get fixed. I was told this was due to the building not being up to modern code. The location of the building was great until homeless junkies appeared in the neighborhood in greater number and frequency. The unit count on the website and there being 2 bedroom units is absolutely false. There is no outdoor parking for the unit, but there is basement garage parking and not as cheap as $150/month. There is no unit with a Spacious Balcony or Mid-Century Style Wood-Burning Fireplace. If you choose to live here, keep a copy of every lease you sign with them. Learn it. Know it. You are not legally accountable for ANYthing you didnt agree to and sign. For example, when I chose to live there, the building was a smoking building. One could smoke in their apartment. I was literally told by the on site manager at the time he didnt care what I smoked in my unit so long as he didnt hear about it. Somewhere around my 3rd or 4th lease they tried telling me it was a non-smoking building but there was no change to any wording in my lease. So I kept on smoking in the apartment. On hot days/nights, as a courtesy to my neighbors above me, I would step outside to smoke 30 feet from any window or entrance.

Business Response on Google Mar 3rd, 2024
Hi Chris, thank you for taking the time to write this thoughtful and honest review. We deeply regret the challenges you've faced during your time here at Cornell! We understand your concerns regarding theft incidents and try to remind residents that we cannot guarantee the security of personal belongings and that there are many nearby Amazon lockers and package receiving centers you can utilize instead. Additionally, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by discrepancies in our policies and amenities. We strive to provide accurate information and are improving our communication with residents! You are correct that dogs are not allowed (unless it is a service animal or ESA) and AirBnb is strictly against the lease agreement, we have never allowed that. If you notice a tenant running their own AirBnb business, please notify management asap so we can take the proper disciplinary actions and remind everyone that only legal occupants on the lease are allowed. We appreciate your feedback and are dedicated to making improvements for the benefit of all residents!
