Highland Apartments

My partner and I have been living in this building for about a year (moved in Spring 2023). The building is wonderful in so many ways. Preserved charm, spacious floor plan, wonderful sunroom with streaming light, tree lined street, unbeatable location. The renovated bathroom is only missing a bath tub (for those who love baths) and the updated electricity provides modern electrical accessibility. The molding, built ins, and preserved wood framed and leaded glass windows are wonderful. The radiators work very efficiently (almost too efficiently, which is a good problem to have) and the heat waves in the summer are primarily a problem in the bedrooms that get full western exposure (only a problem very few days a year). During the renovation, it doesnt seem like they prioritized sound proofing and sound insolation. For example, we can hear the footsteps of our upstairs neighbors and can hear muffled sounds when they speak at normal volumes. This isnt a major drawback for us but is something to be aware of. The cabinetry is nothing special in the kitchen but there is ample storage space and the updated kitchen is wonderful in an old building. The parking on site is often accessible but it is really tight and difficult to get into if you have a mid sized car or larger. All in all this is a wonderful building. Northwest Apartments property management is a bit of a mixed bag. but weve had wonderful experiences with the maintenance team and with the building manager.
