Malmo Apartments

To continue my previous review...due to the fact they can't retain employees, many clerical errors were made regarding mine and my roommates stay there. They have an app that you can review and pay all of your charges including rent and parking etc. every month...my roommate and I always paid our bills on time and did everything that was asked of us. All the sudden, 7 months later we were told they had been charging us incorrectly and we would be responsible for their mistake of not charging us the correct amount of money. When we went to inquire about the discrepancy, the woman in the office told us those charges did not apply to our unit due it being a low income unit. Then 3 months later, we were told that woman gave us incorrect information and we were again responsible for all those back dated charges. The woman who is still there today denies it was her but it's a bit hard to deny when you're the only female employee unless you let random people have the keys to your locked office. They're so scared of the neighborhood and people that live there, they lock their office even when they step out for 2 mins. I paid them to avoid being sent to collections but it was a total scam. They acted like I was supposed to be doing their job for them like I was the one hired or something. They basically said "we know it's our fault but it's still your responsibility". So whatever, that's fair but they had no grace or understanding of how huge of a burden paying 7 months of back dated charges would be on a low income person and were unwilling to work out any sort of agreement. Anywho, moral of the story is if you want to live peacefully, don't live here. Proceed at your own risk!

This is a long one so buckle up. I wouldn't recommend living here. The previous reviewers are correct in the poor quality of the cabinets (constantly coming loose, toilet screws come loose too and the toilets tilt and move when you sit on them, the front door is painfully difficult to lock and unlock, and maintenance is hard to get ahold of. I had one request in for 6 months before someone contacted me about my request lmao sorry bro I already took care of it). All this goes to show the employees hate it almost as much as the miserable people living there do. They can't retain employees for whatever reason. The only person who they've been able to keep is Stefan and that's because he's barely there and mostly works from home. The place is a locked building but it's definitely not secure. Unhoused and drug using people are constantly loitering the area and many have broken into the secure garage and raided and vandalized people's cars. Not to mention the actual tenants are inconsiderate and deplorable people (not all of course, but enough to make people constantly complain on the community app about how many people are illegally disposing of their trash and recycling making it so others can't take their trash out, letting their animals defecate in the hallways and elevators, stealing rent money out of the locked box they have for rent deposit, stealing items from neighbors and the community areas, parking in other people's spaces, partying all night making it sound like someone is doing parkour on the floor above you, etc). And sooooo many barking dogs all day and all night it's impossible to sleep no matter what your schedule is if the partying wasn't already keeping you up. And when you bring it to management's attention they can't do anything about it or don't want to, not sure which, even if you file a police report and have copious amounts of evidence. They never even asked me for it, simply just apologized and dismissed my claims. I lived there for over a year and was stalked by one tenant, harassed, threatened and nearly ran over by another (he threatened to ram me with his car because he couldn't get into his parking spot as I was waiting for another tenant to back out of their parking spot.) Then he threatened to have his sisters come kill me because I'm a woman and he's a man and it would be too easy for him! So scary. Woke up on multiple occasions thanks to my dog being alert of a man peering into my window and taking pics of me and my dog hanging out on our porch area. Lots of drugs users in the building and I was always having to deal with weird smells and discarded cigarette butts thrown down to my balcony from others. The facilities are very aesthetically pleasing and you would think it's a lovely place to live like I did but I promise it's not. We all know apartment living comes with sacrifices so having creepy and violent neighbors is just one thing but as far as management goes it's not great either. More to tell in my next review since Ive exceeded the character limit on this one lol

Maintenance is definitely on point. I made a request and the next day everything was done that I requested. They are very thorough and very quick. I love living here! The front office staff is more than helpful and very friendly. They throw events once a month when the weather is nice, which is amazing.

I love it its closer to my work I get along with neighbors and Malmo staff.
