Looking back at the oldest reviews of 4 years ago stating roaches, 4 years later they still have roaches. The whole complex is infested. It doesn't matter how much you clean the roaches are in the foundation. The manager is a nasty, rude, person, rent is insane and maintaince is nonexistent. DO NOT RENT at Alcove apartments. It's 100% a scam. Seattle health department needs to shut this place down until it is fumigated.

These apartments are a scam, most of them have cockroaches and the rent is too high. I had a very bad experience when I left there, we left everything clean, we moved the stove and the refrigerator, we cleaned everything and the little pots on the wall were covered since my brother is a painter. He did everything very well and they still charged us for cleaning and another for washing the folder, etc. And they were left with $300 dollars deposit, it's not fair. At that time, the manager was Brittanny, very unfair and abusive.

[Update still no fixing to sink or outside drain. Still daily catalytic converters being cut and stolen off cars at night.] Have switch management a few times but these have to be the worst. Trash piles up every week in and outside the dumpster/area. Terrible housing the maintenance doesn't let you know before they are coming to your door, took months to get anything looked at or fixed. The washer was unbalanced so the lid locked and told us it was 450 to get a replacement lock. The drain on the roof is messed up and flooding the bottom floors. And today may 19 they replaced the washer without us asking or paying the 450. Then towed two cars from our paid parking with no notice or anything. I think it's because I called them out on above. They towed my car at noon and told residents it was towed yesterday and the towing warning said it wasn't getting towed until may 20th once I finally got my car out. Also they only have a limited parking and a small lot, if you park on the street side you are capable to get your catalytic converter stolen. Also security is horrible the locks constantly don't work or aren't even on, the mail boxes are all open and have been broken open, packages can't fit in the boxes so they get stolen by other residents.

The old saying of you get what you pay for fits with this property. Appearance: -Originally Alcove at Seahurst was a military barracks and that explains why there are so many apartment units spread out. Being that the buildings are old, you will find layers upon layers of paint. There will be insects! Using bait or sprays will help with that issue. The floors in the upper units creak loudly as you walk due to the age of the building. Most units will not have screens on their windows (those must be requested). Walls are thin, so you will hear your neighbors. Insulation was nice and the hot water lasts for less than 5 mins (quick showers are must and forget about taking a relaxing bath, unless you like tepid temperatures). The front of the property that faces the street is kept very nicely to lure future residents, but as you get further towards the back of the propertythat changes. Inside the apartment: SMALL closet space in the bedrooms, no medicine cabinets in the bathroom, minimal storage space throughout the apartment, ONE drawer in the kitchen, in unit W/D, and average sized bathroom. No balconies or wood floors (some kitchens may have fake wood flooring). -Common Areas & Trash: the residents seem to throw trash everywhere & leave bikes/toys/grills wherever they please, grounds are cleaned once a week, trash overflows every week but is cleaned up on trash day once a week, unsupervised children screaming outside until about 9pm. The grounds are maintained as well as they can be, since less than a few hours after cleaningtrash appears. Have you ever seen someone throw a trash bag outside of their unscreened window or someone sleeping on the sidewalk? Well you will here. The fitness center is kept clean and sanitized. -Parking: 2 permits per apartment. Parking could be handled better by having some of the residents utilize spaces that are often empty towards the back of the property. If you dont park in your assigned color, you will be towed. From what other residents have said, it will cost you $400. There is overflow parking available, but that fills up by 6pm. Neighborhood: the neighborhood is very diverse but the area is in need of a facelift surface-wise. The old bodegas and liquor stores will make you feel like you stepped back to the 1990s. There is constant noise throughout the day and most likely you will hear the banshee call of a homeless drunk, a lovers spat or endless police sirens. Surrounding areas: Only 17 min drive to the airport, 8 minute drive to Seahurst Park and about 35 minute drive to downtown Seattle. There is a Fred Meyer & Safeway about 7 mins from the property. Downtown Burien has everything youd need from restaurants, farmers market and bars. Management: responsive to any email you send. The management may be the only good thing about this property. There is a community website where you can write concerns and see other residents issues, monthly announcements and paying rent online. Water/sewage/trash: that is paid based on the sq/ft of the unit. It is over priced and usually ranges $120-150. For that price youd assume youd get hot water and a immaculate trash areabut no. Its not an awful place to live, but its also not the best either.
