Great section of San Antonios greenway system. Paved trail with mile markers and directions every so often. Keep in mind there are no street lights except at the trail head, but I actually enjoy this because on a clear night, the moon/stars actually provide plenty of light. Its roughly 2 miles from this trailhead to the edge of Leon Valley (one way, see map). In the other direction, its about 0.5-1 miles to the Timberwood bridge. If you go another half a mile past Timberwood bridge, you can get to the Border Brook Trailhead. Great walk/jog/hike either way. This is ADA accessible due to being paved, but going toward Timberwood would be more challenging due to sizable hills. There is only one somewhat sizable hill going toward Leon Valley. While there are a few dog bag stations, please bring your own doggie bags (just in case) to keep this area beautiful! Re: parking. There is some street parking on both sides of this corner. Dog-friendliness: Must be on leash per ordinance! There is a water fountain at the trailhead with a doggie water bowl attached. There is also a doggie bag station, but please bring your own just in case! There are also two more doggie water stations going towards Leon Valley, and there is one more doggie bag station.
