Root Causes Medicine

We spent years seeing the best doctors at a leading medical institution for autoimmune issues deemed idiopathic with pharmaceutical treatments that caused more discomfort than they relieved and gradually kept feeling worse. Weve nearly given up on the medical system and treatment. Thankfully, a friend recommended Root Causes for us to try based on his experiences. I was skeptical of the non-standard approach to wellness and the cost of care as compared to tricare (free), but decided to try it out of desperation. We left the first visit with a feeling of hope that we could make significant quality of life improvements, and the team was able to explain everything in a way that made sense, but is not common sense across the medical community. Expect to go over your entire life medical history to build their understanding of you, and expect to give them a lot of blood to see whats going on inside your body, and expect to journal your eating, sleep and other applicable metrics to give them a solid foundation to build a treatment plan. Expect to improve your health and wellness through attacking deficiencies your body needs, limiting exposure to things that are not good for you, reducing stress, improving sleep, and establishing a healthy gut. Its not the fast pharmaceutical solution and we spend more on quality food, but weve seen noticeable improvements in overall health and significant reduction in autoimmune flare ups. This justifies the lifestyle changes and food cost increase for us. The whole team is really friendly, supportive, and purpose built to collaborate on holistic patient care. IMO, this should be the leading approach to healthcare in our society, but it doesnt support big pharma or insurance payouts so thats not likely to happen. It actually tries to get you healthy and avoid long-term medical care and repeat customers. Thanks RC for helping my family get on a path to long-term health and wellness.

I visited for two stem cell infusions and Dr. Guillory and his staff were wonderful. Dr. Guillory took his time to answer questions I had throughout the process and provided helpful information. The office is professional and welcoming. I highly recommend this practice for anyone looking to improve their health conditions.

I was really struggling and went to several doctors. They werent listening. I knew something was physiologically wrong but they just said lose weight, exercise, get more sleep, pay on your way out. The last straw was a doctor prescribing me anti depressants and lying to me about what it was, saying they would help balance my hormones. I googled the RX when I got home and felt so angry and helpless. I also felt scared. I feel so fortunate I was in San Antonio and found Root Causes. Within a short time NP Charlotte Widick had heard me out, asked questions, looked at the minimal labs the other doctors had run, and identified a few things right off. Then she said, this isnt in your head and we can help you. I literally started crying out of sheer relief. To feel validated and heard! Finally! She helped me uncover what was truly going on and got me on the path to feeling more like me. Im forever grateful to her. Also, working with functional nutritionist, Tara, has been a tremendous help unlearning all the crazy diet stuff Id learned over my lifetime. I have seen how the staff cares for and treats patients. Its truly an amazing practice.

Its honestly kiiiinda expensive but these people know what theyre doing!!! So thats what matters the most because youre investing your money by having the correct people helping you, who actually know stuff! At this point I just rather be healthy and do everything that I can to invest in my health. Ive seen so many different doctors and none of them were helpful at all and they ignored my symptoms and did a lot of guessing games with me. Here they actually listen to you and they get to the root of things. No guessing games with your health!! Been here a few months and Im finally seeing a good difference, its been a slow process and I couldnt even get that from the other doctors that Ive seen before coming here to root causes. The therapies that come with the membership are awesome and very relaxing. Everyone from front desk ladies to nurses and everyone else are all very chill and super sweet!! Haley is freaking awesome!! She knows a lot and knows what shes doing. Shes been helping me and man she really does go out of her way to help me and Im just so thankful for everything she does for me Im just so happy and beyond thankful for finding this place!
