Red Roof PLUS+ San Antonio Downtown - Riverwalk

Literally do NOT stay here, I went downstairs from the top parking lot and there was trash and it smelled really badly there were roaches and spiders on the stairs. My room was ok I found a few roaches and the bedsheets were not clean. There were stains on the bedsheets and the tv didn't even work. The staff were normal and I really liked the area since I was staying for a concert. This was not what I was expecting for a plus room. Anyway, This place grossed me out I'm for sure never gonna stay here again.

Personal items stolen from room which included my military items and laptop. Loud open air club right caddy corner to the hotel and right across from the room I stayed in 402. I selected this hotel for the budget friendly prices and it is close to the Riverwalk but when I arrived I saw that it is located in a very sketchy area with a night club adjacent to the room I was given which was open all night til 2am doing what open air clubs do. But the front desk didnt mention this once so no one moments of sleep. Extremely loud metal plates in the street where construction is going on with people driving over it almost every 2 min or even less. No mini fridge to store food or drinks and the bathroom and sink area is extreme hostel level amenity. Staff seemed nice until I realized I was scammed. Do not stay here!

I am not sure what makes this a plus. First off they charge you for parking. $15 + tax per day. They also want to charge you for the use of a safe per day. I guess that is what makes it a plus. Your stay cost + parking fee + safe usage fee... lol. You can't cancel that ahead of time, you have to cancel it upon check out or within a certain amount of days after you leave. I had them remove the charge upon check-out and now I have to check my bank for the next 3 to 10 business days to ensure that they put the money back.... The towels were crap, they didn't have extra pillows, room service to clean the room if you are there multiple days, the T.V. didn't turn on. I didn't bother asking for batteries as we weren't there for that, just the principle of the matter. The blow dryer seemed to want to catch on fire upon turning it on. The walls are VERY thin. No further explanation there. I am in the life safety business and I look at this equipment when I shouldn't, like when I am on vacation. There sprinkler system had notices of their fire alarm notification not doing it's job. This was on at least 2 floors that I checked. So, basically, if there was a fire, the building would not be notified, which in turn the fire department would not be dispatched. Huge issue. I saw this on my last day there... There was a gift left for premium rooms, but I did not open it for fear of being charged for it... I hope this helps this place get it together or save someone some grief... All I know is that I am not staying there again.
