Hotel Indigo San Antonio-Riverwalk by IHG

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel! You pay to park in a private parking lot and yet my truck window was busted out and they take absolutely no responsibility! The hotel manager ignores me and completely avoided any contact with me. They offered no compensation knowing they are in the Wong!

Refrigerator in suite Microwave in hall. See separate notes below on hotel restaurant (good breakfast, disappointing dinner), walkability. Good bed, bedding. Blanket/duvet too warm for warm spring/summer temps. Coarse, worn towels Loud a/c - heater Very little sound insulation between adjacent rooms and between floors. We hear snoring next door and every step upstairs. We also hear pool activity all afternoon and evening until the kids go to bed. Club chairs with square/ stiff backs need lumbar pillows. Toilet seat was loose - fixed immediately after I met handyman in the elevator Parking a across the street - $35/day Rooms: Loud air conditioner/ heater. Poor sound insulation around room walls and ceiling. Loud neighbors above, pool right outside our window and neighboring rooms - lawyers on speaker or zoom calls all morning. Her tv was on the most of the time on the other room next door. Walkability: A fair distance from the hubbub of downtown or the Pearl district. River shuttle available 12:30-8 pm daily with 24 hr or 3 day tickets available. Narrated river tour also available. River Walk just 2 flights below hotel. Food & drinks: Frescos restaurant is fine for breakfast see photos but a disaster for dinner.

Buckle up...this is going to be long...1st...avoid this Hotel...the staff all appear to be working at a morgue...the most unfriendly, unprofessional group you will ever see in the "hospitality" industry...I cant believe IHG has them on their list of hotels...the front desk personnel act like you are bothering them to even get up when you arrive...the restaurant, OMG, some of the worst food and slowest service we've ever seen...try to get snack or bottled water from the lobby? good luck, they had 4 cans of diet coke and 3 bottles of sprite...when we ordered breakfast for room service, we ordered coffee...came with no cream or sugar, dry toast with no butter or jelly, the dinner wear was so small and flimsy that it would break trying to eat the potatoes...the bacon was good...when room attendants made up the room, they left us replacement coffee for the Keurig, but again, didn't leave any creamers or sugar or Splenda, nothing...there are no overhead lights or lamps, only spotlight reading lamps, so trying to see what you are doing, even with the shades open, is impossible. the hallways and elevators always seemed hot and muggy...when we went to get a drink or snake from vending, the sign on the other side of the hotel said "Vending and Ice" but there were no vending machines and the ice machine had no ice...the ONLY person who even had a personality that wasn't working in a funeral home, was the bartender...this "hotel' has many more issues and it obviously starts with the manager and supervisors and works it's way through the entire staff...plus they seem racist in their hiring practices...I know it's San Antonio, but the entire staff was only Hispanic, no black employees or white employees or Asian employees or any other race, that we saw in 3 days...diversity obviously doesn't apply here. Our advice: IHG should drop them...stay ANYWHERE else you can find and save yourself the aggravation. Shame on IHG for even letting this place be on their list of recommended hotels. And save your worthless "pre-written" copy and paste response, if the bad reviews weren't so numerous, you wouldn't need it, and it's just further proof that no one cares, not even management.
