Hampton Inn & Suites San Antonio Riverwalk

My family stayed here for a week over Thanksgiving one year. It was nice, great location and beautiful by the riverwalk. I did NOT the valet losing my keys twice.

Disappointing customer service. I travel often for work and this is one property I will not be staying at again. The room that I was given had a shower that was not working properly. I spoke to the front desk and was advised they did not have another room I could move to. She offered a room only so I could use the shower. Once I entered that room I noticed a dirty wash cloth hanging in the shower and other things that made it clear it had not been cleaned. I let them know and they said they would have my room fixed and comp the first night. I left thinking everything would be fixed when I returned...it was not the shower still was not working. So again I had to deal with the front desk and eventually be moved to another room. The lack of communication and resolving the issue is not acceptable. Never received the call I asked for from the manager after the 2nd time night of the shower not working. Hilton/Hampton please take better care with your customers.

Really enjoyed my stay there, I will definitely be staying there again on my next project trip. Really like the design of this hotel as well Rooms: Spacious, comfortable, and clean. Walkability: Right on the riverfront. Some cool places to visit within walking distance.

Similar to a previous review that I saw, we booked a King suite with a wet bar and living space. When we arrived, the front desk employee gave us the key and didn't say anything about our room not being what we booked. When we got to our room, it was a 2 queen bedroom with no wet bar or living space. When we went back to ask why this was the case, we were told this was an upgrade because our originally booked room was facing the abandoned building next door and it was unsightly. The new room had a balcony facing the river. When we pressed the issue, another employee showed us a king suite on the 1st floor with direct pool access, but told us we would have to pay extra for this room because "in their system it shows we didn't book a suite." So the 1st employee acknowledged we didn't get what we booked and the 2nd employee was trying to say we never booked a different room. Our room was paid for by an employer to attend a conference so we didn't press the issue further, but it didn't seem right. The hotel should have called and informed us that the room we wanted was not actually available, we could have chosen another hotel with the space we were looking for.
