I'm a veteran that was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme which, in short, is a very aggresssive form of brain cancer that has left me as a shell of my former self and unable to function in normal daily life. This diagnosis occurred while I was in the Navy so I receive monthly payments from the VA and SSA to survive/cover basic needs. Funnily enough the past year has been the most miserable not due to the bi-weekly Avastin infusions or rounds of radiation treatment but due to the creditors at NavyFed illegally attempting to withdraw disability funds from my account and me having to personally call from my hospice care bed to rectify the issue as I have no one else to do this for me. An attorney has assured me these funds cannot be touched by creditors and yet NavyFed creditors maliciously empty my checking account so I have no means to pay for groceries or the electric bill. Once I personally call in and inform them an attorney is aware what they are doing is illegal they immediately return the funds and act none-the-wiser after. I can only imagine the amount of other distraught and disabled veterans out there that have suffered at the hands of Navyfed creditors who did not have the know-how of a legal representative. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE PREDATORS. My family will likely be pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit as the extreme degree of duress these predators have caused someone in the end stages of their prognosis has undoubtedly quickened my death, caused an acute deterioration of my health, and caused and undiscernible loss of funds due to their ineptitude of the law of what determines federally protected funds and fungible funds. I only pray and hope that others have family that can secure their livelihood in a different institution as NavyFed has failed spectacularly in their fundamental promise to secure it. God Bless

Navy Federal saying they are supportive to veterans is a complete hoax. I have been a customer with them for over 12 years. I recently refinanced my car loan through them and have been put through the ringer day in and day out handling the lien transfer. Something no other company has ever had me do, it has always been handled by the companies. I have had to go to the DMV and tax assessor multiple times. Navy federals branch location informed me that if I jumped through all of these hoops and brought them a receipt of the lien transfer they would lower my now double interest rate back down within 3 days. It has been over two weeks and the customer service line has told me that the people at the branch were completely wrong and that my interest rate will lower eventually. Awfully convenient that they are able to continue charging me double the interest despite me jumping through all of their hoops. I guess at this point I will refi my loan somewhere else and close out all of my accounts with this organization.
