Rivas Pool Design

I took me long enough to write this review and let everyone know how unprofessional this company and its so called OWNER ANDRES are. They started building our pool in January 2021 with a promise to deliver in 8 - 10 weeks ( didnt happen, but its completely understandable) they delivered in 16 weeks. And even after that, there was always some small job to finish and they would take at least 2 weeks to complete. ANDRES is a horrible project manager and my husband had to take off of work to supervise the construction because there was no one here to watch what the contractors were doing. Always installing something crooked, different from the original design or even broken material such as kitchen marble countertop. This April 2023, when we thought we were finally done with them, we noticed a leak that had been leaking for God knows how long! After calling a plumber, we find out that the pool company installed a pvc cap on a hot water line ( where it shouldve been copper). I called ANDRES multiple times but as you probably know by now, HE WILL NOT ANSWER OR REPLY TO YOUR MESSAGES. Had better luck with with Karina the designer, with who I had a good communication. She did send someone to take a look and THEIR OWN PLUMMER Alejandro admitted they made a mistake. But, by the time they finally got here the problem was already fixed. I ended up paying $1,425.57 out of my pocket and ANDRES REFUSED to cover the cost of the stupidity of his employees. RIVAS POOL DESIGN IS THE WORSE COMPANY TO WORK WITH. RUN!!!!! We had our pool installed several years ago and we couldnt be happier the quality of materials, and equipment is top notch and with a good price as well. We found them to be $20-40k cheaper than the other 10 companies we got quotes from and they offered less. Now it is a process just like getting any pool built. You wont have a backyard for awhile especially if its a smaller back yard. At the time it took about 3 months to get it completed, but their communication was good they handled anything and everything I asked them to do and gave me even more than I payed for. Very pleased with their work, pricing, communication, and generosity i highly recommend them for your pool/ back yard makeover needs!

We have contacted RIVAS pool design back in December 2021 to start a pool/spa/outdoor kitchen construction after seeing their work at a neighbor's house. When we talked to Andres, he was very responsive and got back with us with the quote, timeline and all details we wanted to know about building a pool. In January 2022, we agreed on the bid and signed the contract. In the first week of February 2022, he dig the pool and did not do Gunite until end of March with a lot of rescheduling. Since then, the process has been very slow and the lack of professionalism and the last time they came to do some work at the house was August 31st,2022 at 3:23pm this was to bring a pump and pump out the water in the pool after several rainy days. At this point, we are considering he abandon the project after several emails, calls and text messages ignored/unanswered, we are stuck with a dysfunctional backyard for the past 10months with no update, communication. It is at this point unhealthy to even sit in the backyard because of remaining water in the pool that brings out mosquitoes which can lead to many health issues especially when you have kids. As I am writing this note, I just called Andres 6 times and Karina his sister 4 times with no responses and I have also texted him. I am hoping to have a response from them as soon as possible or a confirmation from them that they are abandoning the project. Communication that's all we need from him, we already lost a lot of time and money. It is frustrating and I would not recommend them because I have anxiety looking at my backyard. Although the reviews may say they are happy with the work, what they don't know is that Andres does not pay his workers. Work was done on an outdoor kitchen, completed and when it was time to get paid, he all of a sudden went MIA. By the time he was able to be reached, it was two weeks later, he paid a third of what was owed, and said he would pay the other part the week after and didn't and went MIA again . So two families who were depending on this income from this job, lost out on thousands of dollars that he pocketed! I've done my research on him before I decided to leave my review and apparently he goes MIA with a pocket full of money pretty often. Not only from his workers but from his customers that have tried calling him to fix things (probably because he is using products that are absolutely not okay to use when getting a pool built) Why do business with a man who doesn't pay his workers? Check him out on BBB. He also has several profiles for his company because he had to create new ones due to the negative reviews. Do what's right. Find another company! Service: General construction
