See original review under Dr Ayyar's Google page. I would give 0 stars if allowed. AVOID AVOID AVOID. It's a trap! Not worth the stress and disappointment! Started the process for routine gallbladder removal surgery in mid-April. First appt with Ayyar's PA one week later. PA is nice enough but the location is in a shady building on Dotson road, with no permanent staff, who lost my insurance card. Pretty useless consultation, mostly a money grab in my opinion. Larger issues with staff, hospital & surgeon below: His office staff are shockingly incompetent, rude and uncaring. Surgery rescheduled twice and finally executed in mid-July (3 months!!). First delay was because I had COVID, second delay was because the scheduler put in an appointment in violation of the hospital's COVID policies, which "she forgot", meaning I had to wait another month. I tried to find another surgeon but Ayyar's office slow-walked issuing my medical records (took weeks and arrived incomplete, after my procedure). Calls rarely returned. Automated phone system doesn't have correct categories, and the options will often take you to the wrong person or to a VM inbox of people who no longer work there. No preparation material given in advance or procedure. No follow-up since (even an automated 'hope you are still alive' message would have been nice!). The two hospitals for his privileges are equally incompetent and unhelpful - Methodist Willowbrook and HCA N Cypress. Zero coordination with either hospital (I had ultimately-cancelled appointments with both). Everyone will try to double-and triple-dip on your deductible and force you to 'pre-pay'. It'll take you multiple calls to get a cost estimate or break down. They will not adequately verify your insurance - double check everything they do. They will give you no surgery prep or recovery information. As for Dr Ayyar himself - he spent all of 90 seconds with me before the procedure. Ignored all of my questions and just said his standard rapid-fire speech. I doubt he knew my name. All the information he shared about logistics was incorrect, and the nurse called him an "idiot" as soon as he left the room. Very typical ultra-arrogant surgeon guy. Was not concerned about me as a person. I assume he did a good job on the procedure itself, but it's hard to know since no one visited or called me after or explained anything about what happened in the procedure. Cannot emphasize enough my recommendation to avoid this office!

Excellent experience with the whole team. I was kept informed at every step before my procedure. On the day of the procedure, the team were extremely professional, very friendly and put me at total ease. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ayyar and his team!!

Everyone were so courteous and helpful. I was so pleased at how clean everything was.
