        THE WORST DOCTOR. HE LEFT ME DISABLED AND WITH CHRONIC PAIN, AFTER SURGERY, EVEN RUDE , NEVER EMPATHIC WITH MY SITUATION. NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT I WOULD BE MUTILATED. HE TOOK OFF 4 RIBS, THE PECTORAL AND THE SERRATUS MUSCLES, ALL HEALTHY TISSUES. DONT GO WITH HIM!.

        Absolutely phenomenal surgeon. Great bedside manner, very patient and thorough. I truly appreciate the time he took before and after surgery to sit and explain things to me and my family. Im a nurse and have never encountered a surgeon like him. I owe him my life.

      Philip A. Rascoe, MD, is a cardiothoracic surgeon and an associate professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. Board certified in cardiothoracic and general surgery, Dr. Rascoe earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University, and completed his general surgery internship and residency at UTHealth. He performed a Thoracic Oncology Postdoctoral Fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and a Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. With extensive experience in performing minimally-invasive operations for diseases of the chest, his clinical focus is on benign and malignant diseases of the lungs, mediastinum, pleura, trachea, and esophagus.
