This man is Horrible! He almost killed me September of 2014. Gallbladder surgery gone wrong! Nicked my liver when removing my gallbladder and insisted i be cut the length of my torso for the surgery because there was something that morphed itself in the lining of my stomach (from 1991 surgery). After nicking my liver, i was closed up and i let him and this intern know something wasn't right in my gut. I was swelling like a beer keg. They blew me off. I managed to have a nurse listen and when she rolled me over, 1 gallon of bile poured out my incision. She called the doctor back in and he proceeded to take my staples out right there in my room. (another 2 gallons poured out when he took about 4 inches of staples out). I had to stop him from removing all the staples because i was in a room and not an O.R. What was he thinking? Then....Had to have second surgery to wash it all out and that resulted in 5 other procedures in that second surgery because of all the damage the bile had done including him sealing my liver leak. I ended up on life support, getting MRSA, & Sepsis at the same time. Ended up with 11 doctors trying to save my life. after a week and 4 tries to get me off life support, they finally were able to get me off. I spent 43 days in the hospital with a medical bill over 1 million dollars because of his incompetence. Here it is 9 months later and I still have severe gut pain. I received a letter in the mail from his office stating i needed to get some blood work. I though " oh hey...he is keeping up with my progress". I go get the blood work done and went today 6/19/2015 to get my results and results from the CT Scan i had as well to see if anything was wrong. When I arrived today, he had no clue who i was, what i was doing there and no recollection he did surgery on me. He didn't even bother to look at my chart. Then him and his intern were arguing about what they did to me (Intern was trying to explain it all and the doctor kept denying it). The intern did remember. (Luis Escola). Then the doctor told me he don't know why i have pain in my stomach and all he knows it is nothing he did. Ummm......Never hurt until surgery. The end result today was here is a prescription for ibuprofen and come back in two weeks. I seriously don't think this man should be in practice. He is going to kill someone if he hasn't already. I think it is time to retire Leggett. Oh.....and i will NOT be back to see you in two weeks. This is a seriously condensed version of my encounter with this Doctor. Update: 1/29/2016 After finding a doctor to listen to me and try to get to the bottom of my continued pain (Anna Gonzales is wonderful) We have found out that part of the material he removed in my stomach is STILL THERE! Not to mention a mass of stitches on the inside of my esophagus and some other issues all from Dr. Death Leggett. I will soon be having another surgery to correct all of Leggetts mistakes. Please spread the word about this doctor. He is dangerous. I had another surgery and there was tools and trash gauze left inside me. The new surgeon Dr Fields, removed many items from my torso. I did contact a lawyer last year and due to a law that Rick Perry passed, you can't really sue a doctor unless it is as blatant as cutting the wrong leg off. I contacted the AMA and after they investigated him, The result was, "They didn't feel he did anything wrong" Surprise, Surprise. If any of you want to join together and stop this man, I am very willing to do my part. If we went in numbers they would listen more.

Welcome to The Office of Dr. Leggett & Dr. Lee Philip L. Leggett, MD, is a Houston-based practice specializing in general, bariatric, and laparoendoscopic surgery. Helmed by Philip L. Leggett, MD, and Seeyuen Lee, MD, the practice strives to return patients to their normal lives as soon as possible. Thats why they emphasize the benefits of minimally invasive procedures like nonsurgical treatment of acid reflux and sleeve gastrectomy. Both Dr. Leggett and Dr. Lee know how important it is to have options when choosing the right course of treatment. They consistently design their treatment plans to best suit every patient, taking into account different lifestyles, health goals, and possible complications before offering their advice. Theyre experienced in traditional surgery, endoscopic, and incisionless percutaneous surgery, which creates even smaller incisions than laparoscopic procedures. This means less pain, fewer risks, and a shorter recovery time. The practice delivers the most comprehensive care available, including minimally invasive weight loss surgery and a variety of endoscopic procedures such as diagnostic testing with colonoscopy and EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy).
