Indigo Software, the rock star of software support! I would give it 10 stars if I could. I normally dont write testimonials because, frankly, I rarely have feedback positive enough to warrant them. I take the advice of my grandmother, If you dont have something nice to say, dont say anything well today I have something nice to say. After being sucked into the world of a Microsoft customer service feedback black hole and spending hours trying to make a purchase online I was fed up and mad. (you all know what I mean here, transferred several times to someone who has no real answers unless your issue can be addressed in 30 seconds) I finally went to trusty Dogpile and found Indigo Software. I purchased my license of Microsoft Office suite for Mac and received my key. Once I installed it, I found that I could not access the program because the key could not be activated. I emailed Indigo customer service since it was the weekend, deciding to move on to something else. I was surprised to get a call on my phone about 20 minutes later and it was Sean from Indigo Software (shock and awe people, who does that anymore?) who was patient and walked me through the process to be sure the issue was resolved. We quickly realized that the activation process through my Microsoft account was creating the barrier and we ended up installing a newer version of the program. (At Indigo Software expense I might add, thank you Sean!) The problem was that Microsoft would not allow activation with this account because I had originally paid for a subscription product. (BOOOOO Microsoft!). Indigo Software was my hero today! The voice on the other end of the phone, Sean, was not just a good problem solver, he was very respectful (He didnt treat me like most tech people do, you know, the sneers and condescending attitude youre a woman so you must be doing something wrong, let me just dumb it down for ya which I have always bristled about) Sean did none of that. He had a sense of humor, he walked through each step, guiding me along and assuring me that this was not an issue I had created. His confidence and experience reminded me that this was an issue with how Microsoft handles accounts with subscription history, not a mistake on my part. We spoke about the value of customer service and how important it is in this industry because NOBODY seems to get it right. But Sean gets it, he knew exactly what I was talking about and listened to my feedback with a genuine interest in making positive change in this arena. Microsoft is big, arrogant and in my opinion not worthy of the attention and wealth it generates, especially since customer service is SO BAD! The corporate model that tricks people into buying something they dont need really angers me but when I talk with someone like Sean, it reminds me that I have no call to complain unless I participate in solutions. Giving feedback, creating positive assessments is one way to do that. So here I am today lauding praise on the best customer service agent I have ever spoken to in the computer software industry (that is no small thing, I have been at this for over 3 decades) and his company is a model for BEST IN CLASS support. So thank you Indigo Software and thank you Sean, you were my hero today!
