This was my first visit to Pier 77. The restaurant is pretty tired looking, but that fits with the rest of the strip mall this was in. The place was clean, the bathroom serviceable. I ordered the Calamari basket. The food was fresh and hot , so a big plus! I was disappointed with the calamari, it was chewy and encrusted with a hard crunchy coating, I'm used to a softer bread crumb style coat. Calamari is only chewy if it's not prepared properly and/or overcooked. This being one of the first times I've had Calamari in 8 years made for a let down on expectations. If you've stored your raw calamari in milk and then only cooked for a short time, typically 1 minute if at proper temperature, it will come out with a perfect melt in your mouth texture.

Great place to eat. We did enjoy this place. ....My new Go to for seafood and more. A hiding gem.
