The Conative Group

I love the Conative Group. I underwent a comprehensive assessment with Dr. Harrison, and she was wonderful. Working with her as my Psychologist was such a breath of fresh air. She was educated about the nuanced presentations of neurodiversity, and particularly ASD and ADHD, in adult women. She listened to me and took me seriously, and I found my assessment results to be life-changing. Pat Hamilton has been a wonderful Therapist to me, and I have benefited greatly from regular sessions with her. As a late-diagnosed Autistic woman with ADHD, I highly recommend this clinic. I wish that these services were more accessible financially, but if you can afford it, I find it to be worthwhile.

Dr. Harrison does not seem to care about patients. Her chief concern seems to be money. I spent months taking my daughter to see her. All she did was tell my daughter what she needed to do and not do. She did not try to understand her or ask why she was behaving the way she did. She also sent her to two different social skills classes that we had to pay for even more for where they didnt do anything except sit around and play separately in the same room together. Dr Harrison will not accept insurance and will not file on your behalf. She wants payment a day before your appointment. Her fee is astronomical - $225 per 45 minute session, which is so high and outside the market value for therapy for most insurance plans that very little if any of what you have paid is reimbursable through insurance. She also gave me several books to read and tried to send my daughter to a dangerous residential treatment facility. I dont have time to read books about my daughters condition when we are in a crisis! I was paying her for her expertise. I can go find books to read on my own! In summary, I spent thousands of dollars of my own money for many months of therapy and social skills, with nothing to show for it. My daughter is now seeing a therapist who accepts insurance, bills me only a copay, and is actually helping my daughter.

I worked with Conative Group on various occasions and I got to meet most of their staff. With no exceptions everyone is professional, personable, friendly and helpful. Truly recommend this business.

Poor communication, staff never reaches out about group therapy when spaces become available. Even though I was constantly sending emails for updates. Now they said that I have been added on their list and that they reached out via phone the first week of May and there was no call or voicemail recorded on my phone nor email saying that a space was available the following week in may. Now the group therapy I need for my daughter is at the max capacity :(
