It was three or more months to get an appointment with alex sweeney. Arrived on November 2, 2023, for my appointment in which I left after waiting over an hour to see the doctor. Unacceptable when laughing and talking to employees when patient is waiting.

Typical. He was running late. Had his resident / assistant take a bunch of notes, she seemed very sharp. Finally, he is in. I briefly re-described the issue, which was pain in the ear canal, sensitivity to chloride in pool water (but not seawater), to peroxide, as well as my muffled ears after taking neomycin / polymyxin b-sulfate drops, a commonly prescribed medication for otitis externa (same as cortisporin). I also have an otoscope with camera, so I actually showed him my eardrum pictures, one of which is showing this white stuff on the ear drum. He looked at my ears for about... 10sec each. Declared I no longer have the residue. I said this is not possible, the picture is from yesterday, so the assistant gets a camera otoscope and lo and behold there's the residue. He is like "oh, ok, yes, there is residue" and proceeds to tell me how he does not know why that is there or how to remove it. I ask the guy what's with the pain in my ear canal: "I don't know." I received more I don't knows than I knew what to do with. Totally had the feeling he is trying to get rid of me. At the end, I even mentioned how we have lost the ability to listen to patients and get a more holistic picture of their health - e.g., practice more family medicine. Modern US doctors just see patients on a conveyer belt and forget about them as soon as they are out of the office. He signals that it is all about money. That is ironic, it seems my comment went over his head, I was politely trying to snap him out of forgetting me and was still somewhat hopeful he will do a bit of research on my case. It seems he is precisely that kind of doctor who sees patients on a conveyer belt. Oh, and regarding that residue - I went on WebMD and drugs com and looked at neomycin and cortisporin drops comment section. Found over 20 comments how the drops leave acidic residue that forms a cast over the ear drum and causes clogged and muffled hearing. So much for Dr. Sweeney of Bailor College of Medicine research center. Good luck to you all with him.

5 star rated ENT-Otolaryngologist and Neurotology Dr. Alex Sweeney MD of Houston, Tx is the healer of Ear, Nose, and throat. Boss! He is Amazing and I would never change Otolaryngologist. I had surgery Tuesday on my irritated ear which every time I got water in, it would expel mucus and what seemed like Puss of some sort from an unhealed eardrum which had tubes in it when I was a kid. He patched the hole up and I have about three weeks before it's completely healed but I can already tell the difference. Thanks to Dr Alex D Sweeney MD of Baylor College medicine Otolaryngology, I can hear again. I give him 10 stars and 10 stars to his sweet nurses, anesthesiologist, and everyone else who helped with my surgery. You guys are blessings and thank you for your service. Much Love. Thank You otolaryngolog Alex D. Sweeney, MD of Baylor College of Medicine Otolaryngology (Boss)

I've been a patient of probably 10 different Otolaryngologists in my life, and Dr. Sweeney has been the most thorough and understanding of the group. He does sub-specialize in ears and hearing issues, so he's probably not for all your ENT needs. I drive about an hour and 30 minutes to get to the appointments, but I would gladly driver longer/further if need be. He's an 11/10 type of doctor. 1000% reccomend.

If I could give 10 stars to Dr. Sweeney and him team, I would. The entire process from diagnosis to treatment and now aftercare has been amazing. Dr. Sweeney thoroughly explained my diagnosis, my options for treatment and what level of hearing restoration I could expect. His team kept me informed through the process of scheduling the procedure and handled all the work with my insurance company to sort out coverage. The day of the procedure, Dr. Sweeney came and talked to me before and made sure all of my questions were answered. His bedside manner is just amazing. He exudes a kindness and confidence that leaves you knowing you're in the best hands. They kept my family informed during the procedure and he spoke directly to them after the operation, while I was in recovery. I knew when I woke from anesthesia, he had changed my life. His team continues to care for me and answer any questions I have quickly and directly. I highly recommend Dr. Sweeney and his team to anyone suffering with hearing loss. The entire experience was unlike any I have had with medical professionals. They heard me and they helped me and I will forever be grateful to them.
