Anuj Suri, MD, FACOG

Dr. Suri performed surgery to remove an Ovarian mass which post-surgery was confirmed malignant. Caution for anyone receiving treatment under this care...discuss your pain management plan prior to surgery. My experience was traumatizing, and I cant help but feel the discriminatory impact that gender and race clearly played in receiving attention and care while at Methodist hospital. After surgery he passed me to a resident (Dr. Zoe Pilares) who was dismissive, condescending and had zero interpersonal skills. I know men who have gone in for routine procedures at Methodist (ex: vasectomy) and received more pain management options than I did following a five-hour surgery and cancer diagnosisthe discrimination against a minority woman is shocking! I confused Dr. Suri's ex-fratboy arrogant energy for confidence (even when he told me my mass wouldn't be cancerous....wrong) and the care I recieved after he had his fun in surgery is reckless. It took him 10 days post-surgery to follow-up and even then he was dimissive. I implore you...if you are referred to Gyno Oncology at Methodist, move to MD Anderson before surgery. It's not worth the risk!!! Methodist outsources their frontline treatment (chemo in my case) to another clinic so Dr. Suri only operates. The Dr. he referred me to has terrible reviews. This review may sound harsh but I truly pray it spares someone from a similar experience. Your life and health are not worth taking chances.

I highly recommend Dr. Suri if you are looking for a highly skilled, yet approachable and compassionate OB surgeon. He makes sure that your surgery and recovery are going well. Dr. Suri also gives good explanations and listens to your concerns and questions. He also has awesome staff and nurses who share the same values. Our community is truly blessed for having a great, wonderful surgeon like him.

I feel lucky that my excellent gynecologist, Dr. Visaria, recommended Dr. Suri to perform my hysterectomy for uterine fibroids. I was very well taken care of from start to finish by the staff at his office and everyone else at Methodist. Dr. Suri was able to tailor my procedure to my needs as he went. He's very personable, taking time to explain everything, answer questions, and get to know his patients. If I had a friend who needed a similar procedure, I would send her to Dr. Suri.
