I WAS an established patient for about a year but recently I went to the emergency room and had an EKG. I made a follow up appointment with Dr. Shpats, I told her I had the results to the EKG if she wants to take a look, she said no, the emergency room I went to is not affiliated with memorial herman and she does not want to see that. As a patient that really tells me she does not care about you at ALL! Will NOT go back to her and wouldn't recommend anyone to see her, because it never showed she ever really cared about me as a person.

I saw Dr. Shpats as a patient years ago...and I still carry the trauma of what I experienced under her 'care' to the point where I still think about it to this day. I have never had such a callous experience with a doctor. I went in for a Well Women's exam, one of the most vulnerable positions you can put yourself in as a female patient, and she was dismissive and degrading the whole time. The poor nurse who was with me was so nice, trying so hard to make me comfortable and be sweet. I even heard Dr. Shpats and the nurse arguing in the hall outside my room about me at one point. Before I left, Dr. Shpats handed me a pamphlet telling me that I was obese. Overall, a humiliating, traumatic experience that shook a lot of trust I had in doctors and did far more harm than good for me as a patient.

She diagnosed my 80 year old mother correctly. She is so much better than her last doctor. I love her efficiency and effectiveness.

It was my first time visiting her. I was referred by my OBGYN who actually visits her himself. I think that if you are personable with her then she will be personable with you. Yes she does come off a little rude and with a don't care attitude, but I thought that was her personality. She still diagnosed me correctly and offered suggestions. I did not take her attitude rude or personal. I just assume that this is her character. On the other hand, her nurse is very nice and she is awesome. Thank you Dr. Shpats. I had a bad hacking cough and she cleared it up. Look forward to my next visit. New Patient
