Came in for a mental health screening 2 weeks ago and had to wait almost 45 minutes to be seen, even with an appointment. After vitals were taken by one of the MAs, I was visited by the NP at this practice. She asked me an array of questions, which was followed by a physical exam. After this was completed, I was asked to wait in the room as she stepped out. After about 10 minutes, one of the front desk ladies told me I was good to go but had told me to visit the lab in the building for bloodwork. I was not informed about getting any bloodwork done until then, even by the NP and they did not go over any numbers with me either. After taking my payment for the initial visit, (I’m self pay) I visited the lab. 2 weeks later I receive a bill in the mail for $700 for the bloodwork. I believe that as a patient, I was not satisfied with my visit. Barely anything with communicated to me. I was not informed/educated about what the bloodwork was for at all, instead I was just ordered to visit the lab to get it done. I did not know what it was needed for, what they were testing for, or anything along those lines. Moreover, I believe the numbers should have been presented to me before proceeding, as I came in essentially blindsided. Overall, very disappointed with my visit. As healthcare providers it is significant to inform and educate your patients during their visit to the best of your ability so they are fully aware of what’s going on. Hopefully measures can be taken to make it a more comforting and personable experience for all patients.

This clinic is busy. Doctors and the staff really spend the time with patients. Dr. Akhtar addresses every complain. I really appreciate it.
