Honestly, I don't think the 1 star is deserved. I had recently moved back to Houston from out of state and was quite verbose about my situation when she interviewed me. During the process, she was quite curt and impolite, interrupting me while attempting to answer her questions. A year and a half later, I receive a bill from the IRS that I owe them $172 for improper out of state tax statements. When I contacted the office about this, they said "This should've been provided to her when you were here." I replied that I HAD provided all necessary information and the front office receptionist's reply was, "Oh well". Be warned.

I had planned to do my own federal income tax returns this year (individual and business), but when Tax Day arrived, I realized that I needed more than TurboTax. I needed some professional assistance. I filed for extensions and began looking for help. I called a firm that I had used two years ago, but they were too busy. A Google search gave me a couple of names, including Halloway and Associates. I made an appointment and was in their office the next day with my paperwork. The person that I worked with (Donna) was intelligent, professional, and courteous. Throughout the process, communication was very good. They let me know what additional info they needed from me, and they responded promptly to my emails and phone calls. Their fees were reasonable, and I was very pleased with their work!

Had been looking for a local accountant for tax preparation and after asking many friends and colleagues I was surprised to learn how little satisfaction people had with their CPA's. After much internet research I chose Diane Halloway based on experience and location, and called and was treated in a very courteous and professional way by staff at both Baytown and Clear Lake/Webster office. My meeting with Diane Halloway in Webster was very productive and enjoyable and I highly recommend her services.

This was the worst CPA that I have ever went to. The lady that did our return was flat out rude. She made audible sighs when we had some questions on the return that they prepared for us. Then after we paid them they never submitted our return. After more than a month, I called them asking about our return and they admitted their mistake. When I asked for a partial refund since they completely dropped the ball the receptionist said "Oh please I can only say that I'm sorry" Looks like next year we will either do our returns through TurboTax or go to a friendly H&R Block. At least they won't be outright rude
