Saw me once at Methodist Hospital, gave me instructions on my Meds. This is where she was designated my Primary doctor right after my heart attack. Saw her ONE time in hospital, and one time in her office with future visits PUT on the calendar. Shortly after--SHE THEN left Methodist with NO notice to me!!! She is abrupt, I felt like I was just "someone" she just needed to push down the line". Abrupt, Rude, did Not Give A Damn. Soooooo glad she left Methodist

I wanted to share my positive/recent experience with Dr Shields to counter some of the other posts on here that were negative. Not sure if she changed her front office staff, but I found them to be wonderful and efficient. I didnt have any major issues scheduling an appointment and also getting follow ups on the calendar. I also felt like Dr Shields was able to explain my results and come up with solid, actionable advice to improve my health. Also I did not feel like the appointment was rushed and that she took ample time looking through all of the diagnostic testing that was performed.

Dr. Shields and her entire staff at Methodist are amazing. The front desk staff are so friendly and welcoming and Dr. Shields takes the time to explain things in a simplictic to where the average person can understand the issues at hand. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Shields, given anything heart related is not something to take lightly. I will continue to make the 1-1/2 drive just to have this team be apart of my "network" of doctors. Highly recommend!

Incredible! Throughout, makes sure all questions & concerns are answered. Great communication with all aspects of treatments. Make the referral process extremely easy if additional testing is required and wastes to time when it comes to ones health. Parking is so easy + there is valet. Staff is extremely helpful as well. Dr. Monica Sanchez Shields is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in cardiovascular disease and echocardiography. Early in her career, as a member of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Shields visited Washington D.C. to speak to Texas House and Senate Members about the future of cardiovascular disease.
