Dr. Puttappa gave me a poor standard of care. The initial appointment went well. I was referred to cardiology by my PCP having issues with syncope and fainting. Dr. Puttappa gave me an initial diagnosis of POTS and treated me with medication. (No testing just meds) I should have known something was wrong when she did not request a follow up. I ended up reaching out to her when the meds helped but did not work fully to ease my symptoms. I figured she would increase the dose but no. She requested a TTT and which took her a month to approve. I took the test and she said the results were normal. So of course Im still wondering what on earth is wrong with me. As a single mom it is pretty scary. I continue til this day to suffer from fainting spells, fatigue, swelling in my feet, and dizziness. Dr. Puttappa told me that since I tested negative for POTS on the Tilt Table Test that she had no idea what the problem is. She did not seem to want to figure it out either. I asked her the next step and she asked me if I had mental issues!?! I told her I have panic attacks but I am sure they would not cause me to faint or lose vision throughout the day. It was very insulting because I have been feeling pretty bad for the last few months. She became frustrated and said she would give me a Halter monitor test. I needed paper work showing that I was still under her medical supervision and she told me to get my PCP to fill out the documents. I have been out of work since January due to my health problems with syncope and fainting and she refused to fill out any documents that would help me get back to work at least teleworking. She would not even release me back to work. She finally agreed to write a letter saying I was getting test run. I will attach the paper work to this email. (She clearly doesnt want to treat me maybe due to my skin color) She then abruptly ended the call with an appt that lasted a total of 7 minutes and nearly hung up on my face. She was 45 minutes late for the appt! I later called the nurse because she did not send the order for the halter monitor through and I was advised by someone who is familiar with her antics to get a second opinion. You may have a different experience but I had a horrible time with this Doctor. I will not be returning to her very poor care she had no concern for me and an issue I have suffered since October of last year. I have no idea what is going on with my body and she doesnt give a darn. I paid her 60 bucks to pretty much get treated like crap. My honest assessment is that she may be a bit colorist but she had good reviews but I left scared and intreated because since she doesnt think its pots I must be looney. I guess just screw me and my health. Do yourself a favor and look for another doctor with a higher standard of care. She is literally collecting your insurance money.
