Dr. Hussain treated my mother during her 4 month stay at Houston Methodist. Ive been going to hospitals and doctors visits with my mother for almost 30 years but her experience with the heart failure doctors at Houston Methodist was definitely a long and emotionally exhausting one. I was very observant of every single interaction that each doctor had with my mother. The patients who come to these doctors are normally in advanced end stage heart failure and are in need of a heart transplant. My mother was one of those patients. For many of these patients, they depend on their doctors to give them thorough and detailed information with options and hope. Dr. Hussain is very direct and to the point and doesnt spend much time giving thorough answers. He cuts to the chase and gets to the point. I am appreciative of the care Dr. Hussein gave to my mother especially during the first month of her stay. He was helpful in making sure she didnt decline and that her numbers were steady. He kept a close eye on her. However, Dr. Hussein needs a bit of work with his bedside manner. Not for rudeness, but because he has very anxious energy and its very very noticeable. Dr. Hussein has very anxious energy and will make you feel uncomfortable. He brings his anxiousness into the room and you can definitely feel it. You hear the anxiety and uncertainty in his voice and in his body language. It was very noticeable to my mother and I noticed it as well. Very much so. Thats my only note of feedback for him as far as bedside manner. To be more aware of the way he delivers news and updates to patients. Hes a great heart failure doctor and I am glad his expertise was available to my mother during her time at Houston Methodist.
