Dr. Sheilendra S. Mehta, MD

I am two weeks out from my surgery date and I just wanted to express how amazing this process has been so far. Dr. Mehta is wonderful. From the first moment I met him he was very informative. He had a great bedside manner, he was kind, passionate, knowledgeable and very helpful. Ive had a consultation with another doctor from a well known practice and I did not feel comfortable at all. Im glad I chose TLC surgery and Dr Mehta. I have confidence in him and his abilities. The staff is amazing and Im very excited to have my life change for the better. Ill be back with my post surgery update.

Dr Mehtas staff/assistants are unprofessional & rude. The Dr himself doesnt have a good bed side manner, so his staff must believe they can treat his patients in an unconcerned manner as well. A Doctors staff speaks volumes about the Doctors professionalism, requirements & supervision or LACK thereof.

Pleasant doctor. Easy to understand. He performed an endoscopy on my mom and was quick to recommend Nissen Fundoplication. Thank God that my mom's insurance at the time would not cover the surgery! Because Dr. Philip Leggett (also in Houston) was mortified how based on a few tests how he could come to such a quick conclusion. Dr. Leggett was very thorough on analyzing my mom's GERD issue and she's doing well after Stretta procedure, eating whatever she wants even gained 10+ pounds. My mom was not a candidate for Nissen per Dr. Leggett's evaluation. My mom's life could have changed for the worst with that surgery. Dr. Mehta did perform a different surgery on my mom and that did go well, with some post-surgery complications, but we've been told it was caused by the post-surgery pain meds. Credit where it's due, Dr. Mehta is a skilled surgeon, but he should do more thorough testing before recommending life-changing surgeries.
