On July 29, 2023. I applied for an apartment and paid a 200.00 refundable deposit along with a 50.00 non refundable application fee. I was denied moving into the unit because of my credit . I was then told my deposit could take up to 30 days to be refunded. I do not agree with this decision. My deposit which shouldnt have been taken in the first place should have been returned to me immediately after the denial. I could understand if I actually lived there and was moving out and had to wait for a deposit to be returned. I never took possession of the unit and should not fall under the same guidelines as if I previously lived there and moved out. I have reached out to the leasing company and management and has not received a response. I am trying to relocate and strongly feel these people have no intention of giving my money back. I am reporting this for myself as well as potential customers. If you are not 100% sure you will be moving in do not pay a deposit.

Please read it all. I got charged a pretty big move out fee and tried calling the number listed on my final account statement to ask some questions. Kara blankney is the person from corporate that deals with all final account statements. I had played phone tag with her all day and when we were finally able to communicate it was a nightmare. Unfortunately she was very disrespectful not only to me but to my friend as well who was trying to help me get some questions answered. I wanted to see receipts of what I was being charged for as the charges seemed a bit outrageous. Kara rudely denied me those receipts or invoices because they would have the companys account information on it. I kindly asked if she was able to blur it out or crop it out that way I was able to see proof for what I was being charged for. Kara still disrespectfully declined me of those rights to see the receipts or invoices. Would you pay for something without seeing how much it cost? She then told my friend Im not talking to you, Im hanging up now and hung up. She also refused to email me because I asked if we could email as a form of communication that way I have a trail of everything that was happening. Kara said we are talking on the phone right now Im not giving you my email and Im not emailing you. Kara blankney was genuinely the most disrespectful most unprofessional human I have ever encountered and Im very surprised those phone calls are not recorded. Im unsure of how she is able to hold the position she is in considering everything that happened with myself as well as other reviews Ive read about her. All I asked for were receipts or proof of the charges that I was being charged for and all she did was eventually send me pictures of basic apartment wear and tear damages with no apology for the way she talked to me or my friend who was very polite with her. The way she talked to me on the phone was degrading. I still have pictures and videos of roaches crawling around the apartment and in my bed. As well as mold growing in the restroom while I was pregnant and the company was not taking me or my safety serious.

I lived at the South Meadows apartments managed by this group for nearly 3 years. The leasing office was always really nice to me during that time. Maintenance was great until recently when my A/C broke and for 2 months I paid an extra $200 on my electricity bills while they tried to gas light me that I was the problem. Long story short, they finally came and actually checked it out and it was really old and needed to be replaced. Once I put in the notice that I was moving the leasing office employees started acting pretty rude. Once I received a letter about a month after move-out, what I thought was going to be a return of my deposits, they were claiming I owed them money. I tried to call and have them explain a discrepancy on the invoice. She was nice at first, but ended up getting really rude to me all of the sudden and started talking over me, I couldn't even finish a sentence because she was talking over me the whole time and the call was abruptly ended in the middle of my sentence with a "goodbye." I will pay what I owe, but I want to make sure that this "incorrect wording" on my bill is not a shady company making me pay for something because they don't want to.
