Running water in bathroom was weak. Overall, not too bad, had fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Good view of the west side of Dallas.

Good experience! The reviews are pretty low, so we gambled. I think people's expectations and reviews for a lower priced hotel are a little out of whack. I've seen many people complain about the carpet in hotels. Yeah, it's a weird color and pattern and it's gross, it's hotel carpet. Wear shoes and don't respect the 5 second rule. We thought the hotel provided a much better experience than expected. The lobby was grand and clean. The elevators are about average to below-average for speed and availability. We were on the 17th floor and were lucky enough to get a balcony overlooking the city to the north. The room was a good size. The bathroom was great (sans the ultra-low toilet). There was plenty of storage and there was a TV, microwave and fridge. The bed was comfortable but could have offered a firm AND soft pillow as opposed to just firm pillows. No biggee. The room is also stocked with typical soap and lotion, also a bottle of water and four K cups for coffee. However, a Keurig machine was not provided. I inquired at the front desk and the attendant asked for my room # and she'd have one delivered. It never arrived. If it mattered, I could have re-requested, I'm sure she just got sidetracked. Other than that, this was a great stay! Great value!! Great location! Rooms: Typical average hotel room. Bonus - BALCONY! Plenty of plug-ins for standard and USB cords/cables. Nearby activities: JFK Memorial Safety: Eh. So yeah, there's a lot available within walking distance but there is a lot of typical homelessness and potential riff raff found in typical downtown areas. Your room comes with a secure parking garage. It's super tight in the turns but you can find a spacious area to park if you are concerned about door dings. Walkability: Seems like smack dab in the middle of the city. Many food and drink options within .1 to .5 miles away. There is a Subway and a Grandy's in the basement of the big Bank of American building next door to the south. Food & drinks: Restaurant and bar on-site. There is also a small store with drinks, snacks, etc. Noteworthy details: Request a balcony if available. Decent gym with decent cardio options. Some dumbbells and a bench. There was also a multi-workout machine. Co-op laundry room. Outdoor rooftop pool - not open at the time of our visit due to the time of the year.

My recent stay at the Crowne Plaza in Dallas left much to be desired, despite its clean accommodations and comfortable beds. While these aspects are commendable, they hardly justify the high price tag of $540 per night. I encountered several inconveniences that tarnished my experience. Firstly, the absence of a coffee maker in the room was disappointing. Additionally, our attempts to connect to the Wi-Fi took over an hour, adding frustration to the situation. The lack of ice on our floor was an unexpected annoyance. After being directed to floors 10 or 11 for ice, I found myself in a situation when attempting to access these floors. The stairwell to the 11th floor was locked, and the door handle on the 10th floor was missing, trapping me in the stairwell. This safety hazard is alarming and unacceptable, raising serious concerns about the hotel's adherence to fire safety protocols. This hotel does not offer room service, so if you come in late, do not expect the hotel to offer food. You will need to call uber or grub hub (if they are working). The malfunctioning shower presented a discomforting experience as it oscillated between scalding hot and tepid temperatures, despite efforts to adjust it. Adding to the disappointment was the lukewarm reception from the staff. While not outright unfriendly, their lack of warmth and hospitality left me feeling unwelcome and unappreciated as a guest. Location-wise, the hotel's surroundings were less than desirable, with a noticeable presence of homelessness in the area, exacerbated by its proximity to the Greyhound bus station. The Crowne Plaza in Dallas fell short of expectations in several key areas, including amenities, safety, and customer service. With numerous issues detracting from an otherwise decent stay, I cannot recommend this establishment to fellow travelers. At such a steep price point, guests deserve better.
