Outstanding stay at the Ritz. Wonderful food service. Great spa experience. The have guacamole and chips for happy hour every day with margaritas. The rattlesnake bar is fun as well. Yes it is pricey but this visit we got more than we paid for. Will be back and will stay with them again!

Stayed at same location as usual when we return to Dallas to visit friends as Ritz is consistent and we are brand-loyal however this visit was terribly disappointing. We reserved a suite and assumed the room would be immaculate...room is terribly dated, dark, and furniture worn. Ever worse was the carpeting at the foyer junction was frayed and coming apart exposing the underlying nails which I discovered the hard way by stepping on them. The absolute worst part of the visit was when I brought it to the attention of the desk the remedy was covering over the defect using blue duct tape...c'mon this is the Ritz Carlton and a suite going for exorbitant amount of money and this is the best they can do?!?!?...what was insulting was at check-out this was brought to the attention of the agent and they comp'd taxes and fees for the room and said we should expect a call from the manager which has yet to occur, nearly a month since our stay. Service and staff were otherwise excellent but future travelers beware that this property is in need of renovation and I will probably take my business elsewhere next time in Dallas given the over abundance of high-end properties (e.g. Crescent Hotel and Hotel ZaZa to name a few in direct proximity)
