Homewood Suites by Hilton Dallas-Park Central Area

Opinion: This Homewood badly needs refreshing - but it could be great. Bur now, as is, for a Homewood, it seems subpar and disappointing. Just to start: In our room, the carpet was shredded, the ice maker was inop, the fireplace was inop, we found debris under furniture (toys, crackers, plus who knows what), the towels were tiny and few, faucets were improperly installed backwards, and more - including bugs. The common areas to me appeared shabby, and the pool was often closed. For a Homewood, the breakfast and Wednesday social seemed just so-so. The WiFi didn't work on the laptop, which usually has no problems. Most of the staff treated guests kindly. Walkability: Next door, a gas station with a convenience store proved a huge plus.

The area is not the very best but not at all a place where you need to be worried walking to your car at any hour. Front desk staff is more than accommodating to your needs. The breakfast is changed up daily as not to wear your taste buds out. Have good deals online. Rooms were clean. No bugs! 4 s Rooms: Cleaned well, no bugs. Safety: No worries! Food & drinks: Great breakfast!

I have stayed at a ton of Hilton properties and many Homewood Suites. This one was by far the worst I have ever experienced - of any hotel Ive ever stayed at. The first room I was checked into REEKED of cigarette smoke and marijuana. I was traveling with an infant and couldnt have her in a room with so much smoke smell, so I immediately asked to be put in a new room. The receptionist put us in a new room - where the AC did not work. When we checked in, it was 76 degrees in the room. I asked if the AC could be fixed and was told someone could come at 8 the next morning. Throughout the next day, the AC was never fixed. By 3 pm it was over 80 degrees in the room, so I called to check, and was told the AC is unfixable. In TEXAS - a room without a functioning AC should not be rented out to guests. Its not tenable. I was never notified that the AC would not be fixed. I was then moved to a third room, which had a functioning AC, but the entire place was in terrible disrepair. The curtains were frayed and hanging from the attachments (broken) so we couldnt make the room dark - this was particularly problematic because there are giant flood lights in the parking lot below. The carpet was super frayed where the rooms transition, with strips of splintered subfloor showing through. Stains of many colors all over what carpet was not frayed. Front desk staff could not provide dish detergent or dish towels (something I typically expect at a Homewood Suites, since the whole point of booking one is to have a functional kitchenette). Front desk staff also seemed to not care at all about the various issues or condition of the hotel. All the hallways have long scratch marks in the wallpaper and smell strongly of smoke and general uncleanness. Would absolutely never stay here again.
