Ive been coming for almost a month and my hair has grown so much! Its so much healthier too. Tiana has given me great tips along the way on how to care for my hair at home as well which is something I dont see from other stylists. Definitely a 10/10!

Tiana is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! She has such a welcoming environment. Very very informative about hair in general. I love that she is straightforward with you about your hair and helps you in the journey to your hair goals.

I have been searching for a good spirited and talented hair stylist for a while. Such a relief i found one. She was very knowledgeable and experienced. My hair turned out great! And lasted long. I got a silk press.

Tiana is the best of the best and literally so sweet! Not only did she provide amazing service, but also gave me so much advice for keeping my hair healthy and beautiful when I leave her chair. I got a silk press, protein treatment, and cut my hair into a bob. Im still obsessed!! 10/10

I initially wasnt going to leave a review, but with all the inconvenience this experience has caused me, I decided this needs to be a teachable moment. I had an appointment with Tiana on 3/23 from 10-11:30 am. She arrived almost 20 min late which would have given her a little over an hour to do my hair. From the time she put in me in the shampoo bowl, she began to complain and speak negatively regarding my hair. I have very dense, low porosity hair, however I have been natural for over 11 years and have gotten many silk presses from different stylist, I have NEVER had a person tell me they could not do my hair. She shampooed my hair 2 or 3 times with very little effort and said that I have the lowest porosity she has ever seen and that my cuticles wouldnt open for her. She proceeded to ask me all type of questions about what I do with my hair and tell me that my hair is extremely damaged. I advised her I wear wigs so I keep my hair braided in between, which Ive done for the last 7 years. She continued to tell me that I need to shampoo my hair every week as this isnt a healthy state. Once again, Ive been wearing braids for years and never needed to wash my hair weekly in order to achieve a healthy silk press. I told her that I considered perming my hair in the past but thats not something I wanted to do anymore and she still continued to ask me twice if I wanted to perm my hair. She also tried to push me get a soothing treatment that I also declined. She mentioned that I would run into her next appointment and she would need to work both of us at the same time, but after her complaining for about 15 min in my head, she finally said she will not be able to my hair as my hair is too damaged. She said shes a licensed cosmetologist and she does natural hair all day and my hair isnt going to come out silky straight. She said another stylist probably can but I doubt it cause my hair is extremely damaged. She made sure to reiterate that. I asked her if she can atleast wash and blow dry it and trim it blown out and she said no because it needs to be straight to trim. Once again, Ive gotten my hair trimmed even on blowed dried hair numerous times from SKILLED stylists. So this ended with me leaving with my hair half washed and soaking wet. She didnt even get through the shampoo! My scalp was still dirty. Not once did she try to manage my hair in sections which normal stylists would do with my density and porosity. The next day I went to the beauty supply store and got the Design essentials honey shampoo that she used in my hair, along with the design essentials peppermint clarifying shampoo, rosemary mint conditioning treatment and the leave in conditioner. Detangling took hours after she played in my head, however I was able to achieve my silk press at home. After I clarified my hair ONCE, all the cuticles opened up perfectly fine. My hair was literally just dry and dirty. Nothing a proper shampoo and deep conditioner cant fix. Attached youll see the photos of how HEALTHY and full my so called damaged hair looks. If I was able to silk press and trim my hair on my own, I dont know how a someone licensed couldnt. Im really still in awe at this entire experience. Ive never had someone complain so negatively about my hair the hair that grows out my scalp in the manner she did. It was extremely unprofessional and very sad to hear a black woman try to convince another black woman to get a perm knowing how permanent a choice like that is. If I wasnt strong minded and confident that there is nothing wrong with my hair, I would have walked out of there feeling insecure, inadequate and likely with permed hair. I would have preferred if she said she wasnt experienced enough to do it or that she didnt want to because I think thats what it really was. I hope she reads this review and changes her approach on how she handles different hair types moving forward and if not, I hope all my fellow high density, low porosity girlys see this review and find someone else that will love on their hair.

Hello Sierra so sorry I could not satisfy you, unfortunately due to the amount of build up on your hair and scalp due to neglect it would’ve required much more time than the dedicated time allotted for a “silk press appointment” in my opinion a scalp detox would’ve been needed and I simply didn’t have enough time to cater to your needs at the time because Saturdays are very busy none the less your deposit was returned I suggested products for you to use at home and suggested a hair regimen in which you used and your hair turned out beautiful AFTER HOURS as you say thank you for your interest in my services. Glad I could help :)
