Abstract at Design District

Probably the biggest mistake to rent at this place. FOB entries are broken at multiple locations. Everyone gets their packages stolen all the time. Cars are not safe in the garage. Webs & chipped paint all over the building. Management isnt very helpful either and is known to be rude. P.S. A decent amount of the 5 or 4 star reviews are either from over 2 years ago or from accounts that only have 2/3 reviews in total. So, be careful

Debating between 2 and 3 stars for this place was like choosing between overcooked and undercooked pasta neither really hits the spot. But then, I peeked at my rent cafe bills, and suddenly, 2 stars felt right. There a better places at the same price point in Dallas. This apartment building made everything from getting to your apartment to having visitor over super inconvenient. Key observations: Location: Proximity to the fire department means occasional noise, but overall, it's a prime location. Maintenance: They deserve a round of applause. If only the maintenance team could fix my other life problems with the same efficiency! Staff: The staff, barring a few exceptions, tends to be less than accommodating, and there have been instances of rudeness towards my wife. Elevators: Be mindful of your apartment's distance from the elevators; it could mean a long walk with groceries. But hey, you might hit your steps goals! Safety: There have been several car break-ins, including ours. While living downtown has its risks, the security measures seem to inconvenience residents more than deter perpetrators, affecting services like quick deliveries. But hey, at least the perpetrators are finding the security measures as laughable as we do. Parking: Visitor parking is very limited and they are quick to tow. Food Delivery: Receiving deliveries is inconvenient due to the lack of an effective system for letting delivery personnel into the building. Literally it's a hassle to get visitors from the street into your apartment. Deposits: Don't do the deposit option you will not get your money back. They find a way not to give it back to you. I got charged for "carpet discoloration" lol. In summary, while the apartments have their positives, the overall experience is marred by several inconveniences and challenges. It's like a sandwich without the filling looks good until you take a bite. The experience is a blend of minor annoyances and comical challenges. Living here is an adventure, just maybe not the kind you sign up for willingly.
