I am a long-standing 40 plus year tenant at the complex presently managed by State Street Properties always paying my rent and utilities on time, always helping management identify problems within the property that need to be brought to their attention and never having any arguments with management or my neighbors. But recently I received some most disturbing and shocking news from State Street Properties management. Essentially, there was a water leak at the apartment next to mine, which has happened there before incidentally, and some moisture came in to an area mainly on one side of my closet in the bedroom. When the managers came to check on it they immediately wanted for me to move out of my apartment and find another place to live! I could not believe it or understand that decision as water leaks have occurred here before at other of the three units that I have lived at and the managers at the time simply and kindly found me another apartment to stay at while maintenance work was being done. But when asked if the present managers could do the same for me at State Street Properties, the managers most rudely said No!I am a senior citizen not far from reaching 80 years of age and with health issues. The two property managers then began coming to my apartment frequently to ask me if I had found a new place to live. Sometimes they came twice in a day asking the same question! When I told them that I could not do so in such a short amount of time that they had given me they then presented me with two Termination Notice Due To Natural Disaster Or Catastrophe papers which amounts basically to an eviction notice due to the water leak that was not my fault and that has since been repaired. Incidentally, I had to work from the previous evening overnight until about 6 AM the next morning trying to get the area ready for their return visit that they informed me would happen the next day which made me quite ill. In the process, I missed taking important medication and my evening meal in order to comply.Consequently, we had to go to court over the matter and fortunately the judge had much better thinking saying that the case did not warrant an eviction. Obviously, the managers were displeased with that and not long afterward they found another way to get me out of my long-time home. They issued to me an Advance Notice Of Lease Termination At End Of Lease Term Or Renewal Period, or their refusal to renew my lease for another year. Please take note that every other previous property manager here has always issued a lease renewal to me in all of the nearly 40 years of my tenure here but the present managers not wanting to do that was even more shocking and disappointing to me. There is little time left before the expiration of my regular lease, which is at the end of February 2025, and they are standing firm on wanting for me to leave without giving a good reason for that other than that they can do it because they have the right. They may have the right but that does not make it right. Therefore, I have no choice but to rate State Street Properties with One Star. If it were possible I would rate them even lower than that under the circumstances as I'm sure all of you can well understand. They have absolutely no concern, compassion or appreciation for a long-standing tenant who pays their rent and utilities on time (because they bundle both here, except for the electricity) and who has lived at their complex continuously for over Four Decades. When other people tried to negotiate with them to see if they would reconsider they flatly refused! Why? I am appalled and in disbelief that they would treat me in such an awful, cruel and punitive manner for no apparent reason. Also, when someone broke into my fenced back patio area they cut down one of my nice growing plants for no reason. I reported it to the property manager but she never did respond to launch an investigation, nor to show me that she was going to inquire about the matter farther, showing no apparent concern about the occurrence. Why not? When you rent a place to live at you want to feel safe and comfortable in knowing that you will be treated with respect and dignity and that your long tenure is appreciated not that you will be castigated and thrown out coldly from your apartment for being a good tenant and for giving them a copious amount of money over the years enriching them with your rent as well as for being completely innocent of egregious occurrences. But if they can act cruel and coldly cast out an elderly person, just because they can, that in and of itself is very telling and speaks volumes about State Street Properties management. Therefore, based on my experience with the property management here I could not in good conscience recommend that anyone live or rent at State Street Properties because if this tragedy could happen to me it could also happen to you.Thank you for your kind attention.

I would recommend that anyone rent from State Street Properties. From the well maintained property around my apartment complex, to my comfortable, affordable apartment in great condition with very good appliances, it is an all around great company to work with. Maintenance requests are responded to very quickly, and the maintenance workers are friendly and knowledgeable. There are regular inspections to ensure that heating and air conditioning, as well as smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working properly, and notice for these inspections is given in a timely manner. All around, it is a very friendly, responsive, and professional property management company, and I would definitely rent with them anytime.

Property management is superb, personal, and they care about you. I haven't ever had an experience from a rental property quite like this before. TerryTown Flats is a hidden gem in Austin. Well built stone building with excellent sound proofing and pool with a deep end! Also the location is central to all of Austin and routes to and from here seem like the roads where built for you. 10/10
