I lived in an apartment managed by Active for two years. I had several issues while living in the property itself (I was robbed and my apartment flooded), but those were freak accidents and I don't blame the property manager for this at all. I was actually very satisfied with the service provided by Active, especially after my apartment was flooded. The incident occurred while I was out of town, and I received a call from the office to let me know what happened, and to ask if my cat was okay (the maintenance guy from our property remembered I had a cat and saw that when he entered my flooded apartment that the cat wasn't there). I had to stay with friends for two weeks while they cleaned and refloored my unit, and when I asked if they could discount my rent that month for the time I couldn't stay in the apartment, they obliged, no questions asked. They were always quick to send someone out when I had other maintenance requests. I admit that I was a bit hesitant to rent with Active after seeing all the other bad reviews, but I had a great experience living in one of their properties. I also received my full security deposit back upon moving out.

I would be very cautious renting any property managed by this group. I am also a landlord and was shocked at their abussive unprofessional manner. I had my cc set up for autopay. Received a notification that payment was made on 1st. Same cc was hacked the next day. Had to change number. Must have been before their batch out. Christine contacted my friend who lives there that payment declined. I immediately responded via email. Next day Joe started calling my friend threatening to kick her out and raised the fine another $250. I emailed Joe and called Christine-left voicemail. Joe called me back and immediately started throwing f-bombs. He had no interest in getting payment info or understanding the situation. Just called back to yell and cuss I guess.

not sensible set of regulation for moving out. I perfectly cleaned the whole unit before moving out, though they charged me 200$ (from my deposit) since I did not hire their assigned cleaning companies. when I followed up with their boss (christine), she refused to answer my email. so rude. someone would hopefully teach them some lessons. It's not nice to steal from students.

My wife and I have been tenants with Active Property Management for almost two years now, and we recently extended our lease another two. We have had nothing but good experiences with this company. We have rented through several companies in the past but Active has by far the best to work with. On the rare occurrence that we have had any problems with the property they have been on top of fixing it in a timely manner and never fail to follow up to make sure we are satisfied. An instance that stands out the most is last January our heater went out and it had dropped into the 40's in the house when we realized and called the 24 hour maintenance line. They were here within the hour to fix the problem. The next morning my wife received a call from the owner himself to make sure everything had been fixed to our standards and we were satisfied. We recently had some financial obstacles come up that tied up some of our funds and caused us to fall behind on rent. We kept an open line of communication and explained our situation and the staff in the office showed us nothing but compassion and were willing to work with patiently as we caught up. This goes to show that they actually care about their tenants and not just about the money. They have continued to maintain the property since we've been living here with scheduled maintenance and lawn care while working with the fact that we often have our pets in the yard or out freely in the house and we try to avoid kenneling them. To sum our experience up, it has been a pleasure working with Active Property Management and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to work with a genuine company.

The property is dirty!! The lights never turn on when they're supposed to. The washing machines and dryers at my property (305 Place) have been unusable for multiple months now. When I contacted the property manager (Leslie) she did nothing about it for weeks. At least it seems that way. When I called the corporate office they couldn't figure out who would be responsible for replacing the washer and dryer. I was told that they needed to have a locksmith go out and look at the washer and dryer - you mean it took them months to call a locksmith to look at the appliances??!! The machines are still broken.
