I brought my son in and saw Erin, the NP. I had to repeat the timeline of my son's sickness repeatedly and she still couldn't get it accurately. She did not treat him and when I asked her again to give him medication to relieve him of symptoms, she said to come back in a week. She neglected my son's infection, lacked attention to detail, and was greedy by asking for him to come back to treat him at a later date. I felt in my heart she was neglecting my child and I knew something was seriously wrong. I took him to get a second opinion the next day and the DOCTOR at ARC was thorough with my son. He gave him multiple tests including xrays to find that he DID have an infection. The radiologist called it one of the worst he's ever seen. I called Dr. McMain to tell him how disappointed I was in Erin's lack of care. He didn't ask what happened, he didn't ask to see my son, didn't apologize for their mistake, and showed no empathy. He instead referred me to an urgent care or ER. He was my child's doctor for 7 years and it was 7 too long. This dark office doesn't give proper care, the provider's clearly don't care about patient care, and they are more interested in cattle herd of patients for money. ARC had everything in the same place and were able to give my son's results immediately. The doctor actually listened to my son, his symptoms, was CONCERNED, and TREATED him. We only go to the doctor a couple times a year and so I turned my cheek when little things kept happening. I was patient for too long with Dr. Mcmain. Removing my children from his care and taking them to ARC. Having a real doctor versus a Nurse Practitioner is important. Having a doctor who cares about your child's health is even better. Never going back!

Dr. McMains and entire office are friendly, observant, and overall dedicated to my children when they are being seen. Its very relieving for a parent to find this when moving to Austin from a different state.

Dr. Mcmains has always been thoughtful, prompt and kind. My daughter absolutely adores him and has been going to the same doctor since the day she was born.

Dr. Mcmains and his entire office are AMAZING. Starting with his staff, they are caring and efficient both in person and over the phone, I typically end up speaking with Trisha, who is fantastic, but the whole front staff is wonderful. They are amazing about getting you in as soon as possible (which is normally the same day you call). The nurse practitioner Erin is so extraordinary. She demonstrates empathy during every visit because she knows that as a parent there is so much emotion that comes along with your child’s health and she is very thorough when working with my kiddo. It is no surprise that an excellent staff stems from an excellent pediatrician. Dr. McMains is honest, compassionate and incredibly dedicated to the families he works with. He actively listens and addresses all of your concerns without judgement (as a new parent, I know I ask some crrazzzyy ridiculous questions). One of so many examples I could give for how awesome he is: when my daughter was really little she had marks on her legs and I didn’t know what they were. He saw me the same day around 4:00pm. She needed blood work to make sure there wasn’t anything wrong, his office communicated with the blood work office and I was able to get in there really quickly. Dr. McMains office closes at 5 but he called me at around 6:00om to tell me everything was fine. Most doctors won’t do that. That call an hour later than his office closed gave me and my husband so much comfort knowing everything was okay. That is one of many great things about this place. I would recommend this office 100 times over! Thanks for going above and beyond every single time we visit!
