I had recently switched over my renters insurance from State Farm to Farmers and was having difficulty obtaining a refund that was due to me from State Farm. Beware. If you let your policy expired and you had paid in full, but were choosing not to renew because they were charging almost 80% higher than market for the same coverage. There is no requirement in the policy documentation on what to do if you do not want to renew. But they will tell you they can not cancel without a form filled out and a copy of your replacement insurance company.....what the heck!! Have filed with the General Attorney and Texas Insurance Board ...we will see if that helps.

Look elsewhere to hopefully be appreciated as a loyal and model customer. I've been with these guys 7 years and while it's been pretty easy dealing with them I'm now looking for new options. 7 years no violations, no accidents, no claims and no payment issues yet my rates just jumped by hundreds of dollars. Called to ask why and to see if we could do anything about it being I've been loyal to them but nothing... Rather upsetting knowing even though you're a model customer you still get shaken for more money. Times are hard and crazy right now and to have your rates jump so much without cause is really disappointing. ***Update get a call about the review I left and finally seem like someone kinda cares. Nope just got ghosted and nothings changed. Their new slogan should be "Farmers, where we care more about Google reviews then longterm customers"... Changed to progressive and setup a new policy for almost half the price. Thanks farmers
