La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Austin Capitol / Downtown

The nicest things I could say about this hotel is that the soap dispenser at the ground floor bathroom had a soap dispenser that wasn't ripped off the wall and that we got a refund.

2 stars because the staff was friendly at least but the whole hotel was extremely run down and my room felt it it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. There was trash and dirt on the floor that would have been picked up by a quick vacuuming. Everything felt dirty except the bedding.

Looks are deceiving. Id rate it lower in normal circumstances except that this is really not a bad option at all! Even the beds are comfy and the staff is nice. Im impressed. Compared to all of the other prices around, Im surprised they even have a bath tub inside. Its a good last minute option. I was able to walk back and forth to the downtown Austin Convention Center nonstop. It was flat and took about 15 minutes each way... but every intersection looks the same (when you're not from here) so it's easy to get lost haha. So, in that case, you walk a little longer
